CITY OF FRIDLEY
NOTICE OF HEARING ON IMP
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Fridley, Anoka County,
Minnesota, has deemed it necessary and expedient that the improve-
ments hereinafter described be made.
NOW, THEREFORE, NOTICE IS HERE?Y GIVEN THAT on the 21st day of June,
1960, at 7:30 o'clock P.M., the City Council will meet at the City Hall
in said City, and will at said tine, and place hear all parties interested
in said improvements in whole or in part.
The general nature of the improvements is the construction (in the
lands and streets noted below) of the following improvements, to -wit:
CONSTRUCTION ITEM:
A. A COMPLETE municipal Water system throughout the City of Fridley
supplementing and integrating therein the municipal system now in
existence in part of the City of Fridley, and including, but not
limited to the following:
1. Not less than Four (4) additional wells; one elevated storage tank;
at least Two (2) Iron Removal Plants; together with pumps and
pumphouses and tanks; and approximately 20 miles of inter - connecting
supply mains, or major distribution feeder mains; and all appur-
tenances incidental thereto, as are necessary or desirable to
provide to the entire City of Fridley an overall system of munici-
pal water.

2. Approximately three (3) miles of additional watermains, laterals
and service connections to provide a full and complete municipal
water service to areas of land and properties not so serviced
presently, and also as may improve and provide a better service
to lands and areas already receiving some water service.

TOTALESTIMATED COST ........ ..............................$ 2,234,200.00
THAT THE AREA PROPOSED TO BE ASSESSED FOR SAID IMPROVEMENTS (AND EACH
OF THEM) IS AS FOLLOWS:
FOR CONSTRUCTION ITEM A, ABOVE:
All of the lands of the City of Fridley, whereever the same may lie
and as are encompassed within the limits of the City of Fridley as may
receive benefit by said improvements or any of them.
All of said lands to be assessed proportionately according to the
benefits received by such improvements.
That the Council proposes to proceed with each of said improvements
as separate improvements, except as hereafter otherwise provided by the
Council all under the following authority, to -wit: Minnesota Laws 19531
Chapter 398, and laws amendatory thereof, and in conformity with the
City Charter.

RESOLUTION NO. 78 - 1960
A RESOLUTION ORDERING IMPROVEMENTS, APPROVAL
OF PLANS, AIID ORDERING ADVERTISING FOR BIDS - W #33 -1960
WHEREAS, the resolution of the City Council adopted the 7th day
of June, 1960, set the date for hearing on the proposed improvements,
as specifically noted in the notice of hearing attached hereto for
reference as EXHIBIT "A" (Exhibit "A" - see publication notice under
dates of June 9th and 16th, 1960), and,
WHEREAS, all the property owners whose property is liable to be
assessed with the making of these improvements (as noted in said
notice) were given ten (10) days published notice of the Council hear-
ing through two (2) weekly publications of the required notice, and
the hearing was held and the property owners heard thereon at the
hearing, as noted in said notice.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, By the Council of the City of
Fridley, Minnesota, as follows:
1. That the following improvements heretofore proposed by
Council resolution are hereby ordered to be effected and
completed as soon as reasonably possible, to -wit:
a. Those. improvements as noted in the notice of hearing
on the same as are noted (in Exhibit "A") in said
notice, to -wit: Four (4) wells, One (1) elevated
storage tank: that the work involved in said improve -
ments as listed above shall be consolidated as one im-
provement and shall hereafter be designated as:
WATER IMPROVEMENT PROJECT NO. 33 -1960
The construction of other improvements noted in said notice
may and shall hereafter be ordered as further determined by
the Council.
2. The plans and specifications prepared by Comstock and Davis,
Inc., Consulting Engineers, for such improvements and each
of them, pursuant to the Council resolutions, heretofore
adopted, a copy of which plans and specifications are here-
to attached and made a part hereof, are hereby approved and
shall be filed with the City Clerk.
3. The work to be performed under WATER IMPROVEMENT PROJECT
NO. 33 -1960, shall be performed under one contract.
The City Manager shall accordingly prepare and cause to be
inserted in the official newspaper advertisements for bids
upon the making of such improvements under such approved
plans and specifications. The advertisement shall be pub-
lished for 3 weeks (at least 21 days), and shall specify
the work to be done and will state that bids will be opened
and considered at 12:00 o'clock, Noon, on the 18th day of
July, 1960, in the Council Chambers of the City Hall, and
that no bids will be considered unless sealed and filed with
the City Clerk, and accompanied by a cash deposit, bid bond,
or certified check payable to the City for five percent (5b)
of the amount of such bid. That the advertisement for bids
for WATER IMPROVEMENT PROJECT NO. 33 -1960 shall be substan-
tially in form as that noted in Exhibit "B" attached hereto
for reference and made a part hereof. (Exhibit "B" - see
Project File under Project #33 -1960)
