RES 1962-138 - 00012511135 RESOLUTION NO. 137 -1962 A RESOLUTION DIRECTING PUBLICATION OF HEARING ON PROPOSED ASSESSMENT ROLL FOR SEWER & WATER IMPROVEMENT PROJECT NO. 48 WHEREAS, by a resolution passed by the Council on September 10, 1962, the City Clerk was directed to prepare a proposed assessment of the cost of Sewer & Water Improvement Project No. 48, and, WHEREAS, the Clerk has notified the Council that such proposed assessment roll has been completed and filed in his office for public inspection, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Fridley, Anoka County, Minnesota, as follows: 1. The City Council shall meet at the City Hall in the City of Fridley, Anoka County, Minnesota, on the 1st day of October, 1962, at 8:00 o'clock P.M. to pass upon the proposed assessment for the follow - ing named improvement. SEWER & WATER IMPROVEMENT PROJECT NO. 48 2. The City Manager shall publish notices of the time and place of meeting in the official newspaper of the City at least two (2) weeks prior to such meeting. Brunsell RESOLUTION NO. 138 -1962 A RESOLUTION PROVIDING FOR THE ISSUANCE OF BONDS FOR PARK PURPOSES, INCLUDING LAND ACQUISITION, DEVELOPMENT, AND EQUIPMENT, AND CALLING AN ELECTION. BE IT RESOLVED, by the Council of the City of Fridley, Anoka County, Minnesota, as follows: 1. That the Council of the City of Fridley hereby determines to issue bonds of the City as authorized by Chapter 475 of the Minnesota Statutes, and the Charter of the City of Fridley. The purpose for which the debt is to be incurred is to provide money for park and playground purposes, including land acquisition and development, and acquisition of equipment. 136 2. The question of the issuance of such bonds shall be submitted to the voters of the City at the Special City Primary Election to be held October 4, 1962. 3. The City Clerk is authorized and directed to cause printed ballots to be prepared for use at said elec- tion, in which the proposition shall be stated in substantially the following form: OFFICIAL BALLOT SPECIAL CITY PRIMARY ELECTION CITY OF FRIDLEY, ANOKA COUNTY, MINNESOTA OCTOBER 4, 1962 SHALL THE CITY OF FRIDLEY BORROW MONEY AND ISSUE ITS NEGOTIABLE COUPON GENERAL OBLICATION BONDS IN THE AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $150,000.00 FOR THE PURPOSE OF PROVIDING MONEY FOR PARK AND PLAYGROUND PURPOSES, INCLUDING LAND ACQUISITION AND DEVELOPMENT, AND ACQUISITION OF EQUIPMENT? YES NO INSTRUCTION TO VOTERS: Voters desiring to vote in favor of the foregoing propo- sition shall make a cross mark (X) in the square opposite the word YES. Voters desiring to vote against the fore- going proposition shall make a cross mark (X) in the square opposite the word no. 4. The City Clerk shall cause notice of said election to be given by publication in the Fridley News, the offi- cial newspaper of the City, at least three (3) weeks prior to said election, and by posting a notice there- of in at least one (1) public and conspicuous place in each voting precinct (and not less than at least three (3) public and conspicuous places in the City as a whole) for a period of at least three (3) weeks prior to said election. 5. The election shall be held at the usual voting places for City elections, the judges and clerks shall be the same as provided for the Special City Primary Election to be held on said date, and the polls shall remain open to vote said question for the same hours as esta- blished for the Special City Primary Election. 6. That said election shall be held and conducted in accordance with the statutes of the State of Minnesota applicable to elections for the City of Fridley, and also in accordance with the provisions of the Fridley City Charter, and the council shall meet as required by law for the purpose of canvassing said election and declaring the results thereof.
