RES 1962-52 - 00012389EXTRACT OF MINUTES OF MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FRIDLEY, OF A REGULAR MEETING HELD JUNE 18, 1962, AT 8:00 P.M., AT THE CITY HALL, CITY OF FRIDLEY, ANOKA COUNTY, MINNESOTA. The Matter of the construction of certain improvements, and the hearings held heretofore on the same were discussed, and Council being fully advised in the matter, Councilman Johanson introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption. ' RESOLUTION NO. 53 -1962 A RESOLUTION ORDERING IMPROVEMENTS, APPROVAL OF PLANS; AND ORDERING ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS (PROJECT NO. 55). WHEREAS, the resolution of the City Council adopted the 16th day of April, 1962, set the date for hearing on the proposed improvements, as specifically noted in the notice of hearing attached hereto for reference as EXHIBIT "A ", and, WHEREAS, all the property owners whose property is liable to be assessed with the making of these improvements (as noted in said notice) were given ten (10) days published notice of the Council hearing through two (2) weekly publications of the required notice, and the hearing was held and the property owners heard thereon at the hearing, as noted in said notice. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Council of the City of Fridley, Minnesota, as follows: 1. That the following improvements heretofore proposed by Council resolution are hereby ordered to be effected and completed as soon as reasonably possible, to -wit: (a) All of the improvements as noted in the notice of hearing on the same as are noted in (Exhibit "A" in said notice) except (none); that the work involved in said improvements as listed above shall hereafter be designated as: WATER AND SEWER IMPROVEMENT PROJECT NO. 55 -1962 2. The plans and specifications prepared by Comstock and Davis, Inc., Consulting Engineers, for such improvements and each of them, pursuant to the Council resolutions heretofore adopted, a copy of which plans and specifications are hereto - attached and made a part hereof, are hereby approved and shall be filed with the City Clerk. 3. The work to be performed under WATER AND SEWER IMPROVEMENT PROJECT NO. 55 -1962, shall be performed under one contract. _ The City Manager shall accordingly prepare and cause to be inserted in the official newspaper advertisements for bids upon the making of such improvements under such approved plans and specifications. The advertisement shall be published for 3 weeks (at least 21 days), and shall specify the work to be done and will state that bids will be opened and considered at 12 :00 Noon, on the 2nd day of July, 1962, in the Council Chambers of the City Hall, and that no bids will be considered unless sealed and filed with the City ' Clerk, and accompanied by a cash deposit, bid bond, or certified check pay- able to the City for five percent (5 %) of the amount of such bid. That the advertisement for bids for WATER AND SEWER IMPROVEMENT PROJECT NO. 55 -1962 shall be substantially in form as that noted in Exhibit "B" attached hereto for reference and made a part hereof. Brunsell RESOLUTION NO. 52 EXHIBIT "A" CITY OF FRIDLEY BID NOTICE The City Council of the City of Fridley, Minnesota, will accept bids on painting concrete water storage tank 1.5 (MG) on the 16th day of July 1962 until 12:00 o'clock Noon on said date at the City Hall, 6431 University Avenue FE, Fridley 219 Minnesota (tel: 560 - 3450). All bids must meet the minimum re- quirements of the speci£icat'.ons. Failure to comply with this section can result in disqualification of the bid. Each bid shall be accompanied by a Certified Check, Cahhier's Check or Cash in an amount of not less than 5% of the bid, which check or cash shall be forfeited if idder neglects or refuses to enter into a contract, after his bid has been acce-ted. The City reserves the right to accept the bid which is determined to be in the best interests of the City and to reject any and all bids and waive any informalities or technicalities in any bid. The City Council also reserves the right to consider such factors as performance, experience, responsibility of the bidder, past performance of similar types of work, equipment or materials, and other similar factors that it may determine to be in the best interest of the City. Copies of the specifications may be examined in the office of the City Engineer. All bids must be submitted in sealed envelopes and plainly marked on the outside with "Painting Water Tank Bid."
