RES 1962-67 - 0001241674 RESOLUTION N0. 67 -1962 RESOLUTION TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Fridley, as follows: 1. That it is in the interest of the City to construct certain recreation facilities in Fridley Commons, as follows: Tennis and Multipurpose Courts 2. The specifications for the above described improvement work, together with a proposal for the furnishing of the necessary- labor, material and equipment and the pay- ment thereof, have been presented to the Council by the City Manager and the same are hereby approved and adopted as the specifications and the req.iirements by the City with respect to the construction of said improvements. 3. The furnishing of said improvement work as described above shall be effected by sealed bids to be received and opened in the City of Fridley on the 6th day of August, 1962. The City Manager is directed and authorized to advertise for the purchase of said equipment and accessories by sealed bid proposals under notice as provided by law and the Charter of the City of Fridley, the notice to be substantially in form as that shown by Exhibit "A" attached hereto and made a part of by refer- ence. WHEREAS, a certain street right -of -way connecting 75th Way N.E. and Talmadge Way 1V. F., lying in the Ci r of Fridley has not been designated by name and WHEREAS, lack of a street mame can cause needless confusion, t NOW, 71E.: FORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that Section 1. The unnamed street dedication lying between 75th Way N.E. and Talmadge Wad, N.E. and west of East River Road, lying in the north one -half (N.) of Section 10, T303 R -24, City of Fridley, Anoka County, Minnesota, will hereafter be named and known as TALI ?ADGE LAicF. Section 2. The City Clerk is hereby directed to register said change of street name with the proper authorities for Anoka County, and notify the U.S. Post Office of such change. r RESOLUTION NO. 67 E7H IBIT "A" NOTICE TO CONTRACTORS The City Council of the City of Fridley, Minnesota, will accept bids on construction of tennis and multipurpose courts on the 6th day of August 1962, until 12:00 o'clock Noon on said date at the City Hall, 6431 University Avenue N.E., ~ridley 2.1, Minnesota (tel: 560 - 3450). All bids must meet the minimum re- quirements of the specifications. Failure to comply with this section can result in disqualification of the bid. Each bid shall be accompanied by a Certified Check, Cashier's Check or Cash in an amount of not less than 5% of the bid, which check or cash shall. be forfeited if bider neglects or refuses to enter into a Contract, after his bid has been accepted. The City reserves the right to accept the bid which is determined to be in the best interests of the City and to reject any and all bids and wa ve an,-: informalities or technicalities in any bid. The City Council also reserves the right to consider such factors as performance, experience, responsibility of the bidder, past performance of similar types of construction, equipment or materials, and other similar factors that it may determine to be in the best interest of the City. Copies of the specifications may be examined in the office of the City Engineer.
