RESOLUTION NO. 96 -1962
A RESOLUTION RELATING TO CERTAIN HIGHidAY CROSSINGS
BE IT RESOLVED By the Council cf the City of Fridley:
1. The Council finds that a certain crossing across State Highway
#65 immediately north and adjacent to the Minnesota Transfer
Railroad right -of -way is now in existence and has been made use
of by the public in crossing Highway #65 from the land on each
side thereof to reach the north and south bound lanes of said
highway and for access between the highway and said railroad
right -of -way on either side of said hig' -way: and that it is
found tc be in the public interest to maintain such crossing
and access to said railroad right -of -way.
2. That the Council is advised and verily believes from information
received from the Highway Department of the Stale of Minnesota
that said Higl:fway Department desires to and has pro,osed plans
to relocate said crossing of the highway to some point northerly
of the present location thereof, and that said relocation will
necessitate the acquisition of land for a service road along
Highway #65 between said railroad right -of -way and said highway
crossine, if the said crossing is in fact relocated north of the
present situs. That the Higrvay Department directs and r- quests
said right -of -way for service road purposes be provided by the
City if such crossing is to be relocated.
9. That it is in the interest of the City and the public generally,
as well as the properties abutting on and near Highway #65, that
such a crossingg exists, and that a service road be established
along Highway #65 if such crossing be relocated and removed from
its present situs to enable traffic to have access to and from
the various places as presently provided.
4. That the City Manager and City Attorney are authorized and directed
to aceuire, by purchase, gift, or condemnation, the right -of -way
as may be necessary to location of said service road and relocation
of said highway crossing.
