B9ARD OF EQUALIZATION MEETING
July 14, 1964
The meeting wae called to order by Meyor Nee at 8:15 P.M.
Present at the meeting were: Mayor Nee, Councilman Sheridan and Kirkham
Others present : City Manager Wagcier� City Asseasor Herrmann and
Rohert Kirchberg of the City Aaeeaeor's Office� Chief Appraiaer
Schwartz and Chief Accountant Werner of the County Aaseesor's Dffice.
Mr. Charles Johansan, 160 Aartmen Circle; Mr. Clyde Allen� 170 Hartman
Circle and Dr. G. J. Hayano of 941 Rice Creek Terrace� were a3.so
present.
It was noted that there wae a technicality in the publishing of the
hearing notice of the Board of Equalization Meeting.
Dr. Hayano stated that he had juat purchased his home at j1+1 Rice Creek
Terrace for �26�000 and the ta�cea were between $900 and $1�000 per
year. It was auggeated that Dr. Hayano prove the amount he paid
for hie home and possibly a re-appraisal could be made. Perhaps
an ad,}ustment could be made in relationship Lo the purchase price
and the �eneral taxes,
Mr. Johanson stated that he was concerned about the saleahility of
larqe homes in the $30�000 or more bracket due to the high ta.�ces.
Mr. Allen was interested in a check on hie taaea.
Motion was made by Councilman Sheridan to edjourn the meeting �o
July ?_1, i964, seconded by Councilman Kirkham. Motion carried.
