WHEREAS, on Sunday, June 14, 1964, the City of Fridley dedi- cated a new park within the City to be known from this time forth and forever more as Locke Park and WHEREAS, the Douglas Chapel Affiliation, a religious corpora — , tion under the laws of the State of Minnesota, contributed funds for the construction of a large, well— designed and well — constructed Park Shelter Building immeasurably contributing to the usefulness and en- joyment by the citizens of the City of Fridley. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: I. It is the sense of this Council that the Douglas Chapel Affilia- tion, a religious corporation, has made a major and lasting contribu- tion to the City of Fridley which will enhance the usefulness of Locke Park and will make it -more useful and enjoyable to the citizens of this community; and 11. This Council wishes and hereby does thank Douglas Chapel Affilia- tion for the generosity and directs that the records of the City show for all time by this Resolution, the feelings of this Council and the people of Fridley in appreciation of the generous contribution made in our behalf; - III. It is directed that this Resolution be `suitably framed and presented to the officers of the Douglas Chapel Affiliation in token of their most generous gift. DATED THIS 7TH DAY OF JULY, 1964.
