RESOLUTION NO. 145 -1964
A RESOLUTION TO THE COMMISSIONER OF HIGHWAYS, STATE OF
MIJTNESOTA, URGING E RLY CONSTRUCTION OF TRUNK HIGHWAY
47 WITHIN THE CITY OF FRIDLEY
WHEREAS, State Trunk Highway 47 has been in the process of
construction and improvement for many years, and
WHEREAS, said Trunk Highway 47 represents a main thorough-
fare in the City of Fridley, and the plans for same have been in-
volved with the City play_ of the City of Fridley, and consequent-
ly has been continually considered in the construction of municipal
utilities, the location of cross - streets and the installation of
storm sewers, and
WHEREAS, the City of Fridley is just completing a major
storm sewer project with an expenditure of approximately X300,000.00
to accomodate the early construction of Trunk Highway 47, and
WHERE S, the construction of Trunk Highway 47 within the City
of Fridley had been contemplated to commence about October 1, 1964,
but that the City of Fridley understands that the construction has
now been tentatively moved to the Spring of 1965, and
WHEREAS, such a delay will be injurious to the finances and
growth of the City of Fridley.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City
of Fridley, meeting in regular session at the City Hall at 8:00
o'clock P.M., on July 27, 1964, that the Commissioner of Highways of
and for the State of Minnesota be urged to proceed with the construc-
tion of Trunk Highway 47 as previously planned, or at least to let
and do the construction within the City of Fridle;r from Highway 100,
also known as Trunk Highway 694 and Northerly to the intersection
with Trunk Highway 10.

DAY OF JULY, 1964.
