RESOLUTION NO. 35 -1964
A RESOLUTION BY THE CITY COUNCIL REALIGNING THE CITY WARDS AND PRECINCT
BOUNDARIES PURSUANT TO CHAPTER 2, SECTION 2.03 OF THE CITY CHARTER OF FRIDLEY
WHEREAS, the City Charter under Chapter 2, Section 2.03 requires the City
Council to redetermine ward boundaries after each decennial census, and
WHEREAS, it is the wish of the City Council to equalize insofar as
possible the population of the three wards of the City,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Fridley as
follows:
1. Sections 1.02 and 1.03 of the City Code of the City of Fridley be
amended as follows:
WARD BOUNDARIES 1.02 pursuant to the City of Fridley Charter, Chapter 2.03
which requires the Council to redetermine ward boundaries after each decennial
census of the United States, the ward boundaries of the City are redetermined
and hereafter are established as follows:
(a) Ward No. 1, Precinct No. 1 is established as the area bounded as follows:
On the North and East by the City Limits, on the West by T.H. 47,
and on the South by Rice Creek.
(b) Ward No. 1, Precinct No. 2 is established as the area bounded as follows:
On the North by Rice Creek, on the East by T.H. 65; on the South
by Mississippi St., and on the West by T.H. 47.
(c) Ward No. 1, Precinct No. 3 is established as the area bounded as follows:
' On the North and West by the City Limits, on the East by T. H. 47,
and on the South by Rice Creek.
(d) Ward No. 2, Precinct No. 1, is established as the area bounded as follows:
On the North by Mississippi St., on the East by T.H. 65, on the
South by the City Limits, and on the West by 7th Street N. E.
(e) Ward No. 2, Precinct No. 2 is established as the area bounded as follows:
On the North by Rice Creek, on the East and South by the City Limits,
and on the West by T.H. 65.
(f) Ward No. 3, Precinct No. 1 is established as the area bounded as follows:
On the West by the City Limits, on the North by Rice Creek and by
Mississippi St. between 7th St. and T.H. 47, on the South by 53rd
Ave. N.E. extended between the N.P. Right of Way and the West City
Limits and by 61st Ave. N.E. between 7th St, and the N.P. Right of
Way and on the East by T.H. 47 between Rice Creek and Mississippi St.,
7th St. between Mississippi St. and 61st Ave. N.E., and the N.P.
Right of Way between 61st Ave. N.E. and 53rd Ave. N.E. extended .
(p) Ward No. 3, Precinct No. 2 is established as the area bounded as follows:
On the North by 61st Ave. N.E. between 7th St. N.E. and the N.P.
Right of Way, on the East by 7th St. N.E., on the South by 53rd
Ave. N.E. and 53rd Ave. N.E. extended between 7th St. N.E. and
the N.P. Right of Way, and on the West by the N.P. Right of Way
between 61st Ave. N.E. and 53rd Ave. N.E. extended.
(h) Ward No_. 3, Precinct No. 3 is established as the area bounded as follows:
On the North by 53rd Ave. N.E. and 53rd Ave. N.E. extended, on the
East, West, and South by the City Limits.
WARD MAP 1.03 - That said Ward and Precinct Boundaries are further herein established
and delineated as shown on the map hereof. Attached hereto is Exhibit "A" and made
a part hereof by reference; and whenever and whereever a conflict shall appear between
the boundararies as noted and provided on said map and the lines noted and described
in Section 1.02, then the boundaries as noted in said map shall prevail.
