RES 1964-57 - 0001164078 RESOLUTION NO. 57 -1964 RESOLUTION APPROVING FINAL PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS AND ORDERING ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS - W -34 -Q WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution #39 -1964 passed:by the City Council of the City of Fridley on the 2nd day of March, 1964, Comstock and Davis, Inc., the Consulting Engineers retained for the purpose, have prepared plans and specifi- cations for the following improvement: Water Improvement Project No. 34 -Q - The Construction of a gravel packed drift well approximately 115' deep, developed and tested to obtain maximum yield. AND, WHEREAS, the-final plans -and specifications have now been presented to the Council for approval. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FRIDLEY: II 1. Such plans and specifications, a copy of which are attached hereto and made a part hereof, are hereby approved. 2. The City Clerk shall prepare and cause to be inserted in the official newspaper and in the Construction Bulletin an advertisement for bids upon the making of such improvement under such approved plans and specifications. The advertisement shall be published 21 days, shall specify the work to be done, shall state the bids will be considered by the Council at 8:00 o'clock P.M. on April 20, 1964, in the Council Chambers of the City Hall, and that no bids will be considered unless sealed and filed with the Clerk and accompanied by a cash deposit, cashier's check, bid bond or certified check payable to the Clerk for five (5%) per cent of the amount of such bid. Brunsell Y 79 RESOLUTION NO. 57- 1964(Continued) NOTICE TO CONTRACTORS Sealed bids will be received and publicly opened by the City of Fridley; Anoka County, Minnesota, at the office of the City Manager, on the 20th day of April, 1964 at 12 :00 Noon, and will be considered by the City Council of the City of Fridley at a regular Council Meeting, at 8:00 o'clock P.M. on the 20th day of April for the furnishing of work and materials for the installation of Water Improvement Project No. 34 -Q. The project consists of the following approximate quantities: The constrcxction of a gravel packed drift well approximately 115' deep, developed and tested to obtain maximum yield. All in accordance with plans and specifications prepared for the City of Fridley, Minnesota, by Comstock and Davis, Inc., Consulting Engineers, 1446 County Road "J ", Minneapolis, Minnesota 55432, Telephone: SUnset 4 -9346. Plans and specifications may be examined at the office of the City Manager, and copies may be obtained for the Contractor's individual use by applying to the Engineers and depositing with the Engineers $15.00 for each set. The deposit will be refunded to each bidder submitting a bonafide bid upon return of the documents in good condition within ten (10) days from the date of opening bids and to non - bidders upon return of the documents in good condition prior to the bid opening. Bids must be made on the basis of cash payment for the work, and accompanied by a cash deposit, certified check (on a responsible bank in the State of Minnesota), or a bidder's bond and made payable without condition to the City of Fridley, Minnesota, in an amount of not less than 5% of the total amount of the bid. The City Council reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive any informalities in any bids received without explanation. No bid may be withdrawn for a period of thirty (30) days.
