RES 1965-121 - 00011412157 RESOLUTION 121 -1965 A RESOLUTION APPROVING PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS AND ORDERING ADVERTISING FOR BIDS FOR STORM SEWER PROJECT NO. 733 WATER, SANITARY SEWER AND STORM SEWER FOR PROJECT NO. 73 -A (INNSBRUCK 5TH ADDITION) WHEREAS, the Resolution of the City Council adopted on the 23rd day of November 1964 ordered the Consulting Engineers, Comstock and Davis, Incorporated, to prepare the final plans and specifications for all the ' improvements as noted in the Notice of Hearing marked for reference as Exhibit "A", Project No. 73. WHEREAS, the Resolution of the City Council adopted on May 192 1965 ordered the Consulting Engineers, Comstock and Davis, Incorporated, to prepare final plans and specifications for water laterals, service connec- tions, sanitary sewer laterals and service connections, storm sewer and appurtenances in the streets and all the areas described as Innsbruck 5th Addition now designated as Project No. 73 -A. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Council of the City of Fridley as follows: 1. The plans and specifications prepared by the Consulting Engineers, Comstock & Davis, Incorporated, for these improvements, a copy of which plans and specifications are hereto attached and made a r part thereof are hereby approved. 2. The work to be performed under Project No. 73 and Project No. 73 -A shall be performed under one contract. The City Manager shall accordingly prepare and cause to be inserted in the official newspaper advertisements for bids upon the makind of such improvements under such approved plan@ and specifications. The advertisement shall be published for three (3) weeks (at least 21 days), and shall specify ' the work to be done and will state that bids will be opened and considered at 12:00 o'clock (noon), on the 16th day of August, 1965 in the Council Chambers of the City Hall, and that no bids will be considered unless sealed and filed with the City Clerk, and accompanied by a cash deposit, bid bond, or certified check payable to the City for five per cent (5`$) of the amount of such bid. That the advertisement for bids for Project No. 73 and Project No. 73 -A shall be substantially in form as that noted in Exhibit "B" attached hereto for reference and made a part hereof. W d l � MAYOR - Wi 1 i Nee ATTESTs 158 NOTICE TO CONTRACTORS Exhibit "B" Sealed bids will be received and publicly opened by the City of Fridley, Anoka County, Minnesota at the office of the City Manager on the 16th day of August, 1965 at 12:00 Noon, and will be considered by the City Council of the City of Fridley at a regular Council meeting at 8:00 P.M. of the same day, for the £urninshing of work and materials for the installation of Storm Sewer Improvement Project No. 73, and Sanitary Sewer and Water and Storm Sewer . Improvement Project No. 73 -A. The project consists of the follo-A ng approximate quantities: 8200 IF 8" and 6" San. Sewer Lines, Manholes & Appurtenances 1 Lift Station with 500 IF of Force Main 9200 LF 6" to 1" Water Lines with Appurtenances 5800 LF 36" to 1211 Storm Sewer Lines, Manholes & Appurtenances All in accordance with plans and specifications prepared for the City of Fridley, Minnesota by Comstock & Davis, Inc., Consulting Engineers, 1)446 County Road "J ", Minnespolis, Minnesota 55432, Telephone SUnset 4 -9346. Plans and Specifications may be examined at the office of the City Manager, and copies may be obtained for the Contractor's individual use by applying to the Engineers and depositing with the Engineers $x25.00 for each set. The deposit will be refunded to each bidder submitting a bonafide bid upon return of the documents in good condition within ten (10) days from the date of opening bids. Bids must be made on the basis of cash payment for the work, and accompanied by a cash deposit, certified check (on a responsible . bank in the State of Minnesota), or a bidderrs bond and made payable without condition to the City of Fridley, Minnesota, , in an amount of not less than 5% of the total amount of the bid. The City Council reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive any informalities in any bids received without explanation. No bid may be withdrawn for a period of thirty (30) days.
