RES 1965-159 - 00011471216' RESOLUTION-NO. 159 -1965 A RESOLUTION ORDERING IMPROVEMENT, APPROVAL OF PLANS, AND ORDERING ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS FOR STORM SEWER PROJECT #12 WHEREAS, the Resolution #98 -1965 of the City Council adopted on the 21st day of June, 1965, set the date for hearing on the proposed improvements, as specifically noted in the notice of hearing attached hereto for reference as EXHIBIT "A ", and WHEREAS, all property owners whose property is liable to be assessed with the making of the improvements (as noted in said notice) were given ten (10) days published notice of the Council hearing through two (2) weekly publications of the required notice, and the hearing was held and the property owners heard thereon at the hearing, as noted in said notice. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RE30LVED, by the Council of the City of Fridley, Minnesota, as follows: 1. That the following improvements heretofore proposed by Council resolution #98 -1965 are hereby ordered to be effected and completed as soon as reasonably possible, to-wit- (a) All of the improvements as noted in the notice of hearing on the same as are noted (in Exhibit "A" in said notice) except (none); that the work involved in said improvements as listed above shall hereafter be designated as: STORM'SEWER PROJECT #12 2. The plans and specifications prepared by Comstock and Davis, Incorporated, Consulting Engineers and Minnesota Department of Highways, for such improvements and each of them, pursuant to the Council resolutions heretofore adopted, a copy of which plans and specifications are hereto attached and made a part hereof, are hereby approved and shall be filed with the City Clerk. 3. The work to be performed under Storm Sewer Project #12 shall be performed under one contract. The City Manager shall accordingly prepare and cause to be inserted in the official newspaper advertisements for bids upon the making o'_' such improvements under such approved plans and specifications. The advertise- ment shall be published for three (3) weeks (at least 21 days), and shall specify the work to be done andwill state that bids will be opened and considered at 12 :00 o'clock (noon), on the 11th day of October, 1965, unless sealed and filed with the City Clerk, and accompanied by a cash deposit, bid bond, or certified check payable to the City for five per cent (5 %) of the amount of such bid. That the advertisement for bids for Storm Sewer Project #12 shall be substantially in form as that noted in Exhibit "B" attached hereto for reference and made a part hereof. Nee 1 F, 217 NOTICE TO UN TRACTORS EXHIBIT B Sealed bids will be received and publicly opened by the City of Fridley, Anoka - County, Minnesota, at the office of the City Manager, on the 11th day of October, 1965, at 12:00 Noon, and will be considered by the City Council of the City of Fridley, at a regular Council Meeting, at 8:00 P.M. on the 18th day of October for the furnishing of work and materials for the installation of Storm Sewer Improvement Project No. 12. The project consists of the following: Approximately 17,000 L.F. 12" to 96" storm sewers with manholes, catch basins, related appurtenances and utility reennstruction including approximately 1000 L.F. of jacking 78" and 84" rein- forced concrete pipe. All in accordance with plans and specifications prepared for the City of Fridley, Minnesota, by Comstock & Davis, Inc., Consulting Engineers, 1446 County Road "J ", Minneapolis, Minnesota 55432, Telephone: 784 - 9316. Plans and specifications may be examined at the office of the City I`9an4ger, and copies may be obtained for the Contractor's individual use by applying to the Engineers and depositing v1th the Engineers $40-00 for each set. The deposit will be refunded to each bidder submitting a bonafide bid upon return of the documents in good condition within ten (10) days from the date of opening bids and to non- bidders upon return of the documents in good condition prior to the bid openinga. Bids must be made on the basis of cash payment for the work, and accompanied by a cash deposit, certified check (on a responsible bank in the State of Minnesota), or a bidder's bond and made payable without condition to the City of Fridley, Minnesota, in an amount of not less than 5% of the total amount of the bid: The City Council reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to Waive any informalities in any bids received without explanation.
