RES 1965-18 - 00011280RESOLUTION NO, 18 -1965 RESOLUTION TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Fridley, as follows: 1. That it is in the interest of the City to award bid contracts for the following items or materials: 25,000 pounds (more or less) of Liquid Chlorine 2. A copy of the specifications for the above described items and materials, together with a proposal for the method of purchase and the payment thereof have been presented to the Council by the City Manager and the same are hereby approved and adopted as the plans and specifications, and the method of acquisition and pay- ment to be required by the City with respect to the acquisition of said items and materials. 3. The purchase of said items and materials as described above shall be effected by sealed bids to be received and opened by the City of Fridley on the 1st day of February 1965. The City Manager is directed and author- ised to advertise for the purchase of said items and materials by sealed bid proposals under notice as pro- vided by law and the Charter of the City of Fridley, the notice to be substantially in form as that shown by Exhibit "A" attached hereto and mad. a part of by reference. The City Council of the City of Fridley, Minnesota, will accept bids on Liquid Chlorine on the 1st day of February 1965, until 12.00 O'clock noon on said date at the Citv Hall, 6431 University Avenue N.E., Fridley 21, Minnesota (Tel. 560- 3450), All bids must meet the minimum require- ments of the specifications. Failure to comply with this section can result in disqualification of the bid. Each bid shall be accompanied by a Certified Check, Cashier's Check, Cash or Bid Bond in an amount of not less than 5% of the bid, which check, cash or bond shall be forfeited if bidder uegiects or refuses to enter into a Contract, after his bid has been accepted. The City reserves the right to accept the bid which is determined to be in the best_ interests of the City. The City reserves the right to re- ject any and all bids and waive any informalities or technicalities in any bid. The City Council also reserves the right to consider such factors as time of delivery or performance, experience, responsibility of the bid- der, past performance of similar types of items or materials, availabi- lity of products and other similar factors that it may determine to be in the best interest of the City. Copies of the specifications and general conditions may be examined in the office of the City engineer.
