RES 1965-37 - 0001131055 RESOLUTION NO. 37 -1965 A RESOLUTION RELATING TO ALLOCATION OF STATE GAS TAX FUNDS ON BASIS OF SPECIAL FEDERAL CENSUS WHEREAS, present State Statutes require the use of ten year population census figures in determining the allocation of State Gas Tax Funds for any municipality, and WHEREAS, the City of Fridley has had an increase in population of approximately 75% over the 1960 census figures, and WHEREAS, the City of Fridley is having a 1965 Special Federal Census and has paid the costs of same, and WHEREAS, the need for construction of additional city streets with State Gas Tax Funds is great and it is unreasonable and uneconomic to postpone the construction of such streets, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Fridley meeting in regular session on the 1st day of March, 1965 as follows: 1. That the present Minnesota State Legislature be urged to amend the existing State Statutes to provide for the use of the latest federal population census figures from either a general census or special census in determining the allo- cations to a municipality of State Gas Tax Funds. 2. That copies of this resolution be forwarded forthwith to State Representatives Connie Burchett and John Nordin, Senator Vernon S. Hoium, and to the Honorable Karl Rolvaag.
