He s2id it was decided to hold a Public Hearin� to see i£ the people wanted thP Pr��er_t as proposed� but it basically was to complete the road as the road cannot he hia�lt w�thout storm seuer. The vlsitor asked if the swamp wou]d be drained� and the City En�ineer answered that if the Council orders the pro,�ect, �n� hopefull,y it wil7 be donP th�s year. Another vasitor� living at 1200 Re�is Lane� asked how this pro�ect was to be fanancialli� dist,ributed amon� the land owners. He said that the people who live on higher ground do not need storm sewer and will say it is not ne�essar,y� and if the,y put storm sewer by the visitor's home at a later timr, w111 he have to pay for it aQain. Mayor Klrkham explained to the visitor that the complete draina�e district for a storm sewer �s assessed whether it is high land or low land� The F,nance Director explasned that some storm sewer work had heen done in this area. A main �ntPrceptor had been ronstructed going to Moore Lake and some of the area had been taken care of by lateral service, th�_s part of the pro,7ect wo�zld take care of the area not, taken care of at that time, He stated that if the cost is spread over the entire area, the estimate�l cost would be Ti1.3? per 100 square feet or �132 for a 10�000 square foot lot spread iver 20 years. The visitor asked if ha would ever be assessed afia�n if storm sewer were installed. Councilman Wripht explained that when the Cziy des�rns the storm sewer, they fi�ure ever,y place that raln can fall and plan the constructaon to serve that area, and he will not need ar?drtional construction to drain h�s poroerty� but if standards chanFe�l �n ±hP fut.ure 1n� �m�rovement were needed� he could be char�ed for the new �mprovement. MEETING W7TH ERICKSON CORPORATION ON 57TH CROSSOVER: Mavnr Kirkham said that he had received a telephone call from a representative of the Er�ckson Corporation statzng that he and their traffic en�ineer wovld like to meet with the Gouncil on the 57th and Universit,y Avenue crossover. Ma�ror Kirkham said that the z�epresentative had not indicated whether he was for or against the present concept, but that the,y have informatzon that would help the Cnuncil an their decistion. The Council discussed an appropriate t�me for a meetin� and decided on May 12th in the City Manaper�s office if the City Manager can make arrangements with the Erickson Corporation and w�_th Mr. Hodne. DISCIIS,SION OF T.H. #117 INTFRSECT70N: The Cit,y �o�mc�l and Mr. Robert Christenson discussed the southeast corner o£ the intersection of T,H. //!a7 and Mississippi Street.
