RES 1966-169 - 00011216RESOLUTION NO. 169 - 1966 A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING HAZARDOUS BUILDING ACTION BE IT RESOLVED, by the Council of the City of Fridley, Anoka County, Minnesota, as follows: WHEREAS, Minnesota Statutes 162.39 to 462.401 authorize legal action to secure the repair or removal of hazardous buildings; and WHEREAS, that building located at 6001 University Avenue Northeast, which property 49 legally described as Lots 16, 17, 18, and 19, Block 4, Hyde Park, was partially destroyed and severely damaged by a tornado occuring on May 6, 1965; and WHEREAS, the owners of said property have not repaired said damage or made a reasonable attempt to secure a building permit to repair said building; and 141EREAS, the Fridley City Building Inspector together with the Plumbing Inspector, Electrical Inspector and Fire Inspector have examined said building and are of the opinion that by reason of inadequate maintenance, dilapidation, physical damage, unsanitary condition, and abandonment, that said building constitutes a fire hazard and a hazard to public safety or health. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Fridley City Council authorizes the City Attorney to commence an action pursuant to the above referred to Statutes to require the restoration of said building to meet existing codes and to remove existine deficiencies, or in the alternative, to require that said building be removed. BE TT FUR77WP RESOLVED, that the Council shall require compliance with this order on or bef)TP February 28, 1967, and that if compliance is not forthcoming by that date, that the City Attorney is authorized to proceed with court action pursuant to the above Statutes. Kir 231 232 NOTICE TO CONTRACTORS Sealed bids will be received and publicly opened by the City of Fridley, Anoka County, Minnesota, at the office of the City Manager, on the 19th day of December, 1966, at 12:00 Noon, and will be considered by the City Council of the City of Fridley at a regular Council Meeting at 8 :00 P.M. on the 19th day of December, 1966, for the furnishing of work and materials for the installation of Melody Manor Park Improvement Project No. P -1 The project consists of the followings 18,000 C.Y. Excavation 330 L.F. 12111'RCP''Storm Sewer and Catch Basin 60C L.F. 111 to 4" Watermain 150 L.F. 6" VCP Sanitary Sewer Related Appurtenances All in accordance with plans and specifications prepared for the City of Fridley, Minnesota, by Comstock & Davis, Inc., Consulting Engineers, IM6 County Road "J ", Minneapolis, Minnesota 55432, Telephone: 784 -9346. Plans and specifications may be examined at the office of the City Manager} and copies may be obtained for the Contractor's individual use by applying to the Engineers and depositing with the Engineers $10.00 for each set. The deposit will be redunded to each bidder submitting a bonafide bid upon return of the documents in Food condition within teh (10) days from the date of opening bids and to non - bidders uron return of the documents in good condition prior to the bid opening. Bids must be made on the basis of cash payment for the work, and accompanied by a cash deposit, certified check (on a responsible bank in the State of Minnesota), or a bidder's bond and made payable without condition to the City of Fridley, 144_rnesota, in an amount of not less than 5% of the total amount of the bid. The City Council reserves the eight to reject any and all bids and to waive any informalities in any bids received without explanation. No bid may be withdrawn for a period of thirty (30) days.
