RES 1966-192 - 00011251266 RESOLUTION NO. 192 - 1966 RESOLUTION ORDERING IMPROVEMENTS, APPROVAL OF PLANS AND ORDERING ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS: SANITARY SEWER IMPROVEMENT PROJECT #76 WHEREAS, pursuant to a Resolution #191 - 1966 of the City Council, adopted on December 19, 1966, Comstock and Davis, Incorporated, Consult - inS Engineers, has prepared plans and specifications for all the improve- ments proposed by Resolution #114 -1965 and has presented such plans and specifient.ions to the Council for approval: ' NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Council of the City of Fridley, Minnesota, as follows: (1) That the following improvements heretofore proposed by the Ccnncil resolution are hereby ordered to be effected and completed as soon as reasonably possible to -wit: (a) All of the improvements and modifications of the sanitary sewer and service connections as proposed in Plan 1 of the preliminary report in Sylvan H111s; that the work involved in such imnrovement as listed above shall hereafter be designated as Sanitary,Sewer Improvement Project #76. (2) Such plans and specifications, a copy of which are attached hereto and made a part thereof, are hereby approved. (3) The work to be performed under Sanitary Sewer Project #76 shall be performed ender one contract The City Manager shall accordinely prepare and cause to be ' inserted in the offlci_al newspaper adverti sements for bids upon the making of such improvements under such approved plans and specifications. The advertisement shall. be published for two (2) weeks (at least 10 days), and sha1l specify the work to be done and will state that bids will be opened and considered at 12:00 o'clock (noon) on the 16th day of January, 1967, in the Council Chambers of the City Hall, and that no bids will be considered unless sealed and filed with the City Clerk, and accompanied by a cash deposit., hid bond, or certified check payable to the City for five ner cent (5 %) of the amount of such a bid. That the advertisement for bids for Sanitary Sewer Improvement Project #76 shall he substantially in form as that noted in Exhibit_ "B" attached hereto for reference and made a part hereof. Kirkham ' ATTEST: C� - Marvin C, Bruns._ 1 267 RESOLUTION NO. 192 - 1966 Continued NOTICE TO CONTRACTORS Sealed bids will be received and publicly opened by the City of Fridley, Anoka County, Minnesota, at the office of the City Manager, on the 16th day of January, 1967, at 12:00 Noon, and will be considered by the City Council of the City of Fridley at a regular Council Meeting at 8:00 P.M. on the 16th day of January, 1967, for the furnishing of work and materials for the installation of Sanitary Sewer improvement Project No. 76. The project consists of the followings 650 L.F. 6" to 8" Sanitary Sewer with Manholes and Related Appurtenances. All in accordance with plans and specifications prepared for the Citr of Fridley, Minnesota, by Comstock & Davis, Inc., Consulting engineers, 1446 County Road "J ", Minneapolis, Minnesota, 55432, Telephone 784 -9346. Plans and specifications may be examined at the office of the City Manager, and copies may be obtained for the Contractor's individual use by applying to the Engineers and depositing with the Engineers X10.00 for ea -h set. The deposit will be refunded to each bidder submitting a bonafide bid upon return of the documents in good condition within ten (10) days from the date of opening bids and to non - bidders upon return of the documents in good con- dition prior to the bid opening. Bids must be made on the basis of cash payment for the work, and accompanied by a cash denosit, certified check (on a responsible bank in the State of Minnesota), or a bidder's bond and made payable without condition to the City of Fridley, Minnesota, in an amount of not less than 51 of the total amount of the bid. The City Council reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive any informalities in any bids received without explanation. No bid may be withdrawn for a period of thirty (30) days.
