RES 1966-26 - 0001097131 RESOLUTION NO. 26 -1966. A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE APPOINTING OF THE CITY MANAGER AS THE AUTHORIZED OFFICER AND AUTHORIZING HIM TO MAKE PRELIMINARY INQUIRIES CONCERNING FEDERAL ASSISTANCE FOR STORM SEWER PROJECTS. BE IT RESOLVED, by the Council of the City of Fridley, Anoka County, Minnesota as follows: WHEREAS, the City of Fridley has problems in controlling the lake level of Moore Lake, and; WHEREAS, because at certain times the level of Moore Lake is too high in relation to the level of surrounding properties to afford an adequate outlet for storm water drainage, and; WHEREAS, because of a lack of an adequate outlet for said storm water drainage; certain properties, both public and privately owned, are damaged, and; WHEREAS, the assessed value of said property may not be sufficiently high to make it economically feasible to construct the necessary storm sewers and finance said construction by means of a special assessment against benefited properties, and; WHEREAS, a Federal grant may be available through the Department of Housing and Urban Development, and; WHEREAS, it is necessary to appoint and authorize an authorized officer in order to make inquiries regarding the availability of a Federal, grant; NOW THEREFORE, be it resolved that the Fridley City Council doesappoint, the City Manager; Earl Wagner, as authorized officer to make preliminary inquiries concerning Federal assistance for construction of a storm sewer system serving that area of the City of Fridley East and North of Moore Lake; said boundaries to be more specifically defined by the City Engineer and the Engineering Consultant.
