RES 1966-45 - 00010997RESOLUTION No. 45 -1966 A RESOLUTION FORMING A FRIDLEY POLICE PENSION ASSOCIATION AND DIRECTING A ONE MILL TAX LEVY TO FUND THE PENSION ASSOCIATION. BE IT RESOLVED, by the Council of the City of Fridley, Anoka County, Minnesota as follows: WHEREAS, the City of Fridley is now a city of the second class and ' therefore bound by Minnesota Statutes 423.801 through 423.815; and WHEREAS, Minnesota Statutes 123.802 directs the Police Department• to organize a Police Relief Association; and WHEREAS, Minnesota Statutes 423.807 directs the City of Fridley to levy a one mill tax at the time and in the manner in which other taxes are levied; and WHEREAS, Minnesota Statutes 423.807 directs that the proceeds of the one mill tax levied be paid into the Policemen's Pension Fund; NOW THEREFORE, be it resolved that the City Council of the City of Fridley authorize the formation of the Fridley Police Pension Association. The City Council further directs the City Manager to include in the 1967 Budget; and each Budget hereafter, a one mill levy; in addition to other City mill levies; the proceeds of which shall be paid directly to the Police Pension Association.
