A RESOLUTION APPROVING EXECUTION OF AGREEMENT
WITH THE MINNESOTA HIGHWAY DEPARTMENT.
BE IT RESOLVED, that the City of Fridley enter into an agreement
with the State of Minnesota, Department of Highways for the following
purposes,
WHEREAS, Minnesota Highway Department is in the process of
improving Minnesota Trunk Highway No. 47; and
WHEREAS, the contracts have been let for the improvement of
Trunk Highway No. 47; together with the adjoining service roads;
and
WHEREAS, The Minnesota Highway Department and the City Council
of the City of Fridley have conferred regarding the feasability and
desireability of making certain changes in the contract relative to
the construction of service roads adjacent to Trunk Highway No. 47;
and
WHEREAS, The Minnesota Highway Department and the City Council
of the City of Fridley have reached agreement regarding certain changes
on said service roads;
NOW THEREFORE, be it resolved that the City of Fridley enter
into an agreement with the State of Minnesota Department of Highways
for the following purposes:
1. To delete the proposed service road from Mississippi
Street to 66th Avenue in the Northeast quadrant of the inter-
section formed by Mississippi Street and Trunk Highway No. 47.
2. To delete service road construction from the North line
of 61st Avenue to the junction with Star Lane in the Northwest
quadrant of the intersection formed by Trunk Highway No. 47 and
61st Avenue.
3. To construct frontage road according to normal construction
standards between 66th Avenue and 67th Avenue connecting
66th and 67th Avenues.
4. To construct Star Lane to frontage road standards between
the junction of Star Lane and 61st and the junction of Star
Lane with the deleted frontage road. Said construction to be
in lieu of construction of deleted frontage road referred to in
No. 2 above.
5. To consider the possibility of a free right turn for west-
bound Mississippi traffic on to the North -bound Trunk Highway No. 47
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City of Fridley request that the
Minnesota Highway Department prepare a suitable agreement covering the above
requested changes and that the Mayor and City Manager be and are authorized
to execute such agreement on behalf of the City of Fridley.
