RES 1966-80 - 00011041RESOLUTION NO. 80 - 1966 A RESOLUTION RELATING TO SPECIAL ASSESSMENTS ON PROPERTY ACQUIRED BY OTHER GOVERNMENTAL UNITS, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Fridley as follows: WHEREAS, the City of Fridley has authorized and constructed many special improvement projects which are financed in whole or part by special assessments upon adjoining property; and ' WHEREAS, the financing of said special improvements is dependant upon receipt of all of said special assessments; and WHEREAS, the cancellation of any existing special assessments places an increased burden upon the General Revenue Account of the City of Fridley and may necessitate an increase in the property tax rate; NOW THEREFORE, bs it resolved that the Fridley City Council requests the Anoka County Commission to include the City of Fridley in any condemna- tion proceeding wherein there are special assessments on the property to be acquired and that all existing special assessments be assumed by the buyer or paid by one of the parties at the time the title to the property is transferred. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Fridley City Council will not make any assessments against Anoka County Park property unless such property receives special benefits from the proposed improvement.
