RES 1966-92 - 00011057117 RESOLUTION NO. 92 - 1966 A RESOLUTION ORDERING IMPROVEMENT, APPROVAL OF PLANS AND ADVERTISING FOR BIDS: WATER, SANITARY SEWER AND STORM SEWER PROJECT N0. 79 WHEREAS, the Resolution No. 175 -1965 adopted by the City Council on the 20th day of September, 1965, Resolution No. 192 -1965 adopted by the City Council on the 1st day of November, 1965, and Resolution No. 70 -1966 adopted by the Council on the 18th day of April, 1966, set the dates for hearing on the proposed improvements, as specifically noted in the.Notices of Hearing attached hereto, and WHEREAS, all property- owners whose property is liable to be assessed with the making of the improvements (as noted in Laid notices) were given ten (10) days notice by mail and published notice of the Council hearing through two (2) weekly publications of the required notices, and the hearings were held and the property owners heard thereon at the hearings, as noted in said notices. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Council of the City of Fridley Anoka County, Minnesota as follows: 1. A) That the following parts of the improvements heretofore proposed by Council Resolution #175 -1965 are hereby ordered to be effected and completed as soon as reasonably possible, to -wit: Storm Sewer and Appurtenances for Ely and Dover Streets in 500 Block Mississippi Place at Riverview Terrace B) That the following part of the improvements heretofore proposed by Council Resolution $ 19241965 are hereby ordered to be effected and completed as soon as reasonably possible, to -wit: Storm Sewer for East -West Easement South of Mississippi Places From Riverview Terrace to East River Road C) That the following parts of the improvements heretofore proposed by Council Resolution #58 -1966 are hereby ordered to be effected and completed as soon as reasonably possible, to -wit: a) Sanitary Sewer and Water Mains and Laterals and Service Connections located in all of the streets and serving all of the area described as: 1. To serve the Plat of Commerce Park. 2. 53;!� Caurt to serve Lots 1 through 5, Block 1, Swanstrom's Court Addition 3. To serve only Fillmore Street in Terry's Addition Plat b) Storm Sewer located in all of the streets and serving all of the area described as: 1. To serve the Plat of Commerce Park I 2. Court To 3. To Serve only Fillmore Street in Terry's Addition Plat That the work involved in said improvements as listed above shall be designated as: WATER, SANITARY SEWER AND STORM SEWER PROJECT NO. 79 2. The work to be performed under this project may be performed under one or more contracts as may be deemed advisable upon receipt of bids. 118 RESOLUTION NO. 92 - 1966 Continued - 3. The plans and specifications prepared by the Comstock & Davis, Inc. for such improvements and each of them, pursuant to the Council Resolutions heretofore adopted, a copy of which plans and specifications are hereto attached and made a part hereof, are hereby approved and shall be filed with the City Clerk. The City Manager shall accordingly prepare and cause to be inserted in the official newspaper advertisements for bids upon the making of such improve- ments under such approved plans and specifications. The Advertisement shall be published for three (3) weeks (at least 21 days), and shall specify the work to be done and will state that bids will be opened and considered at 12:00 o'clock (noon), on the 18th day of July, 1966 in the Council Chambers of the City Hall, and that no bids will be considered unless sealed and filed with the City Clerk, and accompanied by a cash deposit, bid bond, or certified check payable to the City for five percent (5%) of the amount of such bid. That the advertisement for bids for WATER, SANITARY SEWER AND STORM SEWER PROJECT NO. 79 shall be substantially in form as that noted in Exhibit "B" Attached hereto for reference and made a part hereof. Kirkham ATTEST: CITY - Marvin C.- Brunsell E%HIBIT aBw NOTICE TO CONTRACTORS Sealed bids Will be received and publicly opened by the City of Fridley, Anoka County, Minnesota at the office of the City Manager on the 18th day of July, 1966, at 12:00 Noon, and will be considered by the City Council of the City of Fridley at a regular Council meeting at 8:00 P.M. on the 18th day of July, 1966, for the furnishing of work and materials for the installation of Sanitary Sewer and Water and Storm Sewer Improvement Project No. 79. The project consists of the following approximate quahtities: 8000 LF 8" and 6" San. Sewer Lines, Manholes & Appurtenances 8000 IF 10" to 1" Water Lines with Appurtenances 2500 IF 24" to 12" Storm Sewer Lines, Manholes, Catch Basins & Appurtenances All in accordance with plans and specifications prepared for the City of Fridley, Minnesota by Comstock & Davis, Ins., Consulting Engineers, 1446 County Road "J ", Minneapolis, Minnesota 55432, Telephone: 784 -9346. Plans and specifications may be examined at the office of the City Manager #. and copies may be obtained for the Contractor's individual use by applying to the Engineers and depositing with the Engineers $30.00 for each set. The deposit will be refunded to each bidder submitting a bonafide bid upon return of the documents in good condition within ten (10) days from the date of opening bids, and to non - bidders upon return of the documents in good con- dition prior to the bid opening. 119 RESOLUTION NO. 92 - 1966 Continued EXHIBIT "B" NOTICE TO CONTRACTORS Bids must be made on the basis of cash payment For the work, and accompanied by a cash deposit, certified check (on a responsible bank in the State of Minnesota), or a bidder's bond and made payable without condition to the City of Fridley, Minnesota, in an amount of not less than 5% of the total amount of`the bid. The City Council reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive any informalities in any bids received without explanation. No bid may be withdrawn for a period of thirty (30) days.
