RES 1967-10 - 00010627J 1 RESOLUTION N0. 10 - 1967 A RESOLUTION REGARDING STATE WIDE SUNDAY CLOSING. BE IT RESOLVED, by the Council of the City of Fridley, Anoka County, Minnesota as follows: WHEREAS, certain individuals and organizations within the City of Fridley have expressed interest in adopting a Sunday closing ordinance; and WHEREAS, certain communities in the metropolitan Twin City area have adopted Sunday closing ordinances; and WHEREAS, other communities do permit businesses to remain open onday; and WHEREAS, a bill has been prepared for introduction in the State Legislature which, if adopted, would provide for State wide legislation on the subject of Sunday closing; and WHEREAS, the Fridley City Council believes that the question of Sunday closing should be determined on a uniform basis throughout the State. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE FRIDLEY CITY COUNCIL goes on record in favor of the establishment of a State wide Sunday Closing law and urges the Minnesota Legislature to enact such legislation.
