RES 1967-100 - 00010752S 1.10 n T"T(,TT TTn 1 nn -1 Q(i7 RESOLUTIOW ORD -k1NG IMPROVEIVENTS, APPi.OVAL OF PLANS AND ORDERING ADVFETISFI�IETT FOR BIDS: STORM SEWER IMPROVZIIEIiT PROJECT #87 WHEREAS, pursuant to a Resolution #72 -1967 of the City Council adopted on April 17, 1967, Comstock and Davis, Incorporated, Consulting Engineers, has prepared plans and specifications for the Storm Sewer part of the improvements proposed by Resolution #53 -1967 and has presented such plans and specifications to the Council for approval: NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Council of the City of Fridley, Minnesota, as follows: 1. That the following improvements heretofore proposed by the Council Resolution #53 -1967 are hereby ordered to be effected and completed as soon as reasonably possible to -wit: Storm sewer and appurtenances in and serving the area bounded as: Commencing at the intersection of Pearson Way and East River Road thence North along East River Road to a point on the westerly extension of the South Boundary of Bourdeaux's Spring Brook Addition; thence East along said South boundary of Bourdeaux's Spring Brook Addition to the Southeast corner of said Bourdeaux's Spring Brook Addition; thence North along the East line of said Bourdeaux's Spring Brook Addition to the Northeast corner of said Bourdeaux's Spring Brook Addition; thence East along the easterly extension of the North line of Bourdeaux's Spring Brook Addition to the West boundary of the Great Northern Railway Right of Way; thence South along said West Right of Way line of the Great Northern Railroad to a point located 400 feet (400') as measured along the West Right of Way line, South of the centerline of 79th Avenue; thence West in a straight line to the point of beginning, thence terminating. All lying in Section 3, T -30, R -24, County of Anoka, State of Minnesota. That the work involved in such improvement as listed above shall hereafter be designated as STORM SEWER IMPROVEMENT PROJECT fi87. 2. Such plans and specifications, a copy of which are attached here- to and made a part hereof, are hereby approved. 3. The work to be performed under Storm Sewer Project #87 shall be performed under one contract. The City Manager shall accordingly prepare and cause to be inserted in the official newspaper advertisements for bids upon the making of such improvements under such approved plans and specifications. The advertisement shall be published for two (2) weeks (at least 10 days), and shall specify the work to be done and will state that bids will be opened and considered at 12:00 o'clock (noon), on the 5th day of June, 1967 in the Council Chambers of the City 'Hall, and that no bids will be considered unless sealed and filed with the City Clerk, and accompanied by a cash deposit, bid bond, or certified check payable to the City for five per cent (5f) of the amount of such a bid. That the advertise- s ments for bids for Storm Sewer Project #87 shall be substantially in form as that noted in Exhibit "B" attached hereto for reference and made a part hereof. i t i - ADOPTED BY THE COUNCIL OF FRIDLEY, THIS 5m DAY OF JUNE, 1967. NOTICE TO CONTRACTORS Sealed bids will be received and publicly opened by the City of Fridley, Anoka County Minnesota at the office of the City Manager, on the 26th day of June, 1967 at 12:00 Noon, and will be considered by the City Council of the City of Fridley at a regular Council Meeting at 8:00 P.M. on the 5th day of July, 1967, for the furnish- ing of work and materials for the installation of Storm Sewer Improvement No. 87. The Project consists of the following: 3600 L.F. 12" to 24" Storm Sewer with Manholes, Catch Basins & Related Appurtenances All in accordance with plans and specifications prepared for the City of Fridley, Minnesota by Comstock & Davis, Inc., Consulting Engineers, 1446 County Road "J ", Minneapolis, Minnesota 55432, Telephone: 784 -9346. Plans and specifications may be examined at the office of the City Manager, and copies may be obtained for the Contractor's individual use by applying to the Engineers and depositing with the Engineers $25.00 for each set. The deposit will be refunded to each bidder submitting a bonafide bid upon the return of the documents in good condition within ten (10) days from the date of opening bids, and to non - bidders upon return of the documents in good condition prior to the bid opening. Bids must be made on the basis of cash payment for the work, and accompanied by a cash deposit, certified check (on a responsible bank in the State of Minnesota), or a bidder's bond, and made pay- able without condition to the City of Fridley, Minnesota in an amount of not less than 5% of the total amount of the bid. The City Council reserves the right to reject and and all bids and to waive any informalities in any bids received without explanation. No bid may be withdrawn for a period of thirty (30) days.
