RESOLUTION NO. 132 — _1967
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING EMERGENCY REPAIRS
OF WATER AND SEWER SYSTEM
BE IT RESOLVED, by the Council of the City of Fridley, Anoka
County, Minnesota, as follows:
WHEREAS, the City of Fridley owns and operates a municipal
water and sewer systm; and
WHEREAS, said system on occrsion requires immediate repairs of
water and sewer breakdowns; r.nd
WHEREAS, it is not feasible or prrctical for the City Council
to meet in advance to authorize said emergency repairs; and
WHEREAS, said emergency repairs often exceed $1,000.00; and
WHEREAS, the Fridley
City Charter
requires advance npprov =l by
the Council rnd advertisement
for bids for
purchase of merchandise,
materiels or equipment or'for
any kind of
construction work.
NOW THEREFORE, be it
resolved that
the Fridley City Council
,
interprets the above Charter
requirements
as being inrpplicr.ble to
emergency repairs of the water
and sewer system.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, thrt the Fridley City Council
authorizes the City Administration to proceed immediately to make
necess =ry emergency repairs to the water and sewer system provided
that the Administration shall report the emergency and actions taken
to the Council at the earliest opportunity.
