RES 1967-184 - 00010889269 RESOLUTION NO.- 184-1967 "UNITED STATES DAY" WHEREAS, the United States of American has given to its people more individual freedom and liberty, the highest standard of living, the best opportunities for an education, the highest wages, shortest hours and most benefits to the working man, with un- limited opportunities for personal advancement; and WHEREAS our Constitution with its representative form of government gives to all its citizens the right of free assembly, freedom of speech, press, choice and practise of one's religion; and WHEREAS, America under our Free Enterprise system became the greatest economic power in the world; and WHEREAS, our Constitutional Republic form of government guarantees the inalienable rights of each individual to own pro- perty, to be secure in his own home against searches and seizures, to choose through the ballot their representatives in local, state and national government; and WHEREAS, THE OBSERVANCE OF UNITED STATES DAY on October 23 has become an established custom in many communities throughout the length and breadth of our land, NOW, THEREFORE, We the Mayor and Councilmen of the City of Fridley do hereby resolve to observe October 23, 1967, as "UNITED STATES DAY ", and devoutly thank God for our matchless constitutional government, and reverently pray to Him to help us keep the Repub- lic sovereign and our freedoms inviolate. We further request all our members to reaffirm their allegiance to the United States of America and rededicate their lives to the support and mainten- ance of the Constitution upon which it is founded. ��/ YOR - JACI: O.
