RES 1967-187 - 00010893t 273 RESOLUTION 140. 187 -1g67 A RESOLUTION TO ADVEWPISE FOR BIDS BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Fridley, as follows: 1. That it is in the interest of the City to award bid contracts for the following work: CONSTRUCTION OF FRIDLEY MUNICIPAL GARAGE 2. A copy of the Plans and Specifications for the above described work prepared. by Patch and Erickson, Incorporated, Architects, 2801 Wayzata Boulevard, Minneapolis, Minnesota 55405, together with a proposal for the method of the payment thereof have been presented to the Council by the City Manager and the same are hereby approved and adopted as the Plans and Specifications, and the method of pay- went to be required by the City with respect to the construction of said structure. 3. The City Manger shall accordingly prepare and cause to be inserted in the official newspaper advertisements forbids upon the making of such improvements under such approved Plans and Specifications. The advertisement shall be published for two (2) weeks (at least 10 days), and shall specify the work to be done and will state that bids will be opened and considered at 7:30 PM CST, on the 20th day of November., 1967 in the Council Chambers of the City- Hall, and that no bids will be considered unless sealed and filed with the City Clerk, and accompanied by a cash deposit, bid bond, or certified check payable to the City for five per cent (5 %) of the amount of such a bid. That the advertisement for bids for Fridley Municipal Garage shall be substantially in form as that noted in Exhibit "A" attached hereto for reference and made a part hereof. Kirkham 274 CITY OF 11UIDLEY BID NOTICE for FRIDLEY MUNICIPAL GARAGE E)dlIBIT "A" Sealed proposals for the Fridley Municipal Garage, Fridley, Minnesota, will be received by the Fridley City Manager in the City hall, 6431 University Avenue NE, Fridley, Minnesota 55421, not later than 7:30 PM CST, November 20, 1967, at which time they will be publicly opened and read aloud. Separate proposals will be received for the following prime work classifications: 1. General Construction Work 2. Mechanical Work 3. Electrical Work. All proposals shall be in exact accordance with Drawings and Specifications as prepared by or for Patch and Erickson, Incorporated, Architects, 2801 Wayzata Boulevard, Minneapolis, Minnesota 55405• Drawings and specifications may be seen at the office of the Architect and at Builders Exchanges in Minneapolis and St. Paul on or after October 31, 1967. One set of Drawings and Specifications may be obtained at the office of Patch and Erickson by each prime contract bidder upon deposit of a, bank check for $10.00. This deposit will be returned to bidders who submit bonafide proposals and return drawings and specifications in good condition within 10 days after opening of proposals. t Proposals must be accompanied by a Bidder's Bond or certified check in the amount of 50/lo of the proposal and payable to the Owner. This bid security will be forfeited as liquidated damages in the event the proposal is accepted and the bidder fails to enter into a contract with the Owner and furnish the required Surety Bond. Certified check bid securities of the three lowest bidders for the prime contracts will be retained until the contracts have been awarded and executed but not longer than 30 days. Other certified. check bid securities will. be returned within 7 days. Bidder's bonds and proposal forms will not be returned. Bidder's bonds will be destroyed 30 days after proposals are opened unless accompanied with a request for return at the time of bidding. No proposal n!ay be withdrawn within 30 days after opening of proposals. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive any informalities in bidding.
