RES 1967-192 - 00010901281 � RH oLUTlorr No. - 192 -1 RESOLUTION ORDIIRING INPROVEMENTS, APPROVAL OF PLA TS AND ORDERING ADVJRTISJ,MENi' FOR BIDS: WATER, SANITARY SEl•M AND STOR14 SL'h!2 PROJECT NO. 88 Wmmy,'AS, pursuant to a Resolution #130 -1967 of the City Council, adopted on July 101, 1967, Comstock and Davis, Incorporated, Consult - ing Engineers, has prepared plans and specifications for some of the 'improvements proposed by Resolution #319 -1967 and has presented such plans and specifications to the Council for approval: NOW, THERITORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Council of the City of Fridley, Minnesota, as follows: 1. That the following improvements heretofore proposed by the Council Resolution #119 -1967 are hereby ordered to be effected and completed as soon as reasonably possible to -wit: A. Sanitary sewer, water mains and latgrals and service connections serving the following streets: 1. Norton Avenue: Central Avenue to West End of Street. 2. 691 Avenue: Central Avenue to East City Limits 3. Proposed 72nd Avenue: Between Highway #65 and Central Ave. B. Storm Sewer and Appurtenances serving the following streets: 1.. Hayes Street: 73rd Venue (County Road 6) to Onondaga. St. 2. 73rd Avenue (County Road 8): Central Ave. to Stinson Blvd. That the work involved in such improvement as listed above shall hereafter be designated as WATFR, SANITARY SEWER, AND STORM SEWF;Et PROJECT NO. 68. 2. Such plans and specifications, a copy of which are attached hereto and made a part hereof, are hereby approved. 3. The work to be performed under Water, Sanitary Sewer, and Storm Sewer Project No. 88 shall be performed under one contract. The City Manager shall accordingly prepare and cause to be inserted .in the official newspaper advertisements for bids upon the making of such improvements under such approved plans and specifications. The advertise- ment shall be published for three (3) weeks (at least 21 days), and shall specify the work to be done and will state that bids will be opened and considered at 12:00 orclock (noon), on the 1 day of December, 1967 in the Council Chami,ers of the City hall, and that no bids will be considered unless sealed and filad with the City Clerk, and accompanied by a each deposit, bid bond, or certified check payable to the City for five per cent (.51) of the amount of such a bid. That the advertisement for bids for Water, Sanitary Sewer, and Storm Sewer Project, No. 88 shall be substantially in form as that noted in Exhibit "A" attached hereto for reference and made a part hereof. Brunson 282 NOTICE TO CONTRACTORS Sealed bids will be received and publicly opened by the City of Fridley, Anoka County, Minnesota, at the office of the City Manager, on the 4th day of December, 1967 at 12 :00 Noon, and will be considered by the City Council of the City of Fridley at a regular Council Meeting:at 8:00 P.M. on the 4th day of December, 1967, for the furnishing of work and materials for the installation of Sanitary Sewer, Water and Storm Sewer Improvement Project ¢#88 The Project consists of the following: 6,000 L.F. 8" to 1" Watermain with Related Appurtenances 8,000 L.F. 6" to 8" Sanitary Sewer with Manholes and Related Appurtenances 2,000 L.F. 12" to 8" Storm Sewer with Manholes, Catch Basins and Related Appurtenances All in accordance with plans and specifications prepared for the City of Fridley, Minnesota, by Comstock & Davis, Inc., Consulting Engineers, 1446 County Road "J ", Minneapolis, Minnesota 55432 - 784 -9346. Plans and specifications may be examined at the office of the City Manager, and copies may be obtained for the Contractor's individ- ual use by applying to the Engineers and depositing vi th the Engineers $20.00 for each set. The deposit will be refunded to each bidder submitting a bonafide bid upon return of the docu- ments in good condition within ten (10) days from the date of opening bids, and to non - bidders upon return of the documents in good condition prior to the bid opening. Bids must be made on the basis of cash payment for the work, and accompanied by a cash deposit, certified check (on a responsible bank in the State of Minnesota), or a bidder's bond and made payable without condition to the City of Fridley, Minnesota in an amount of not less than 5% of the total amount of the bid. The City Council reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive any informalities in any bids received without explana- tion. No bid may be withdrawn for a period of thirty (30) days.
