RES 1967-24 - 0001064428 RESOLUTION NO, 24 - 1 %7 A RESOLUTION REGARDING SPECIAL ASSENT OF REAL ESTATE OWNED BY CITIES OF THE FIRST CLASS. BE IT RESOLVED, by the Council of the City of Fridley, Anoka County, Minnesota as follows: WHEREAS, Minnesota Statutes presently provide for special assessment of property owned by all municipalities except cities of the first class; and WHEREAS, the City of Minneapolis and the City of St. Paul own certain property within the City of Fridley; and WHEREAS, such special exemption of property owned by the cities of the first class from assessment for improvement projects is unfair and inequitable to other taxpayers and land owners within the City of Fridley; and WHEREAS, legislative bills have been introduced in the 1967 session of the Minnesota Legislature, specifically House File #274 and Senate File #320, which bills would authorize the special assessment of-property owned by cities of the first class. NOW THEREFORE, be it resolved, that the Fridley City Council goes on record in support of the above mentioned legislative bills. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Council urges the Anoka County delegation to support said legislation. ADOPTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FRIDLEY THIS 6TH DAY OF FEBRUARY, 1967.
