RES 1967-43 - 00010668w RESOLUTION NO. 43 - 1967 A RESOLUTION APPROVING PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS AND ORDERING ADVERTISING FOR BIDS: WATER, SANITARY SEWER, STORM SEWER PROJECT #84. WHEREAS, Resolution No. 128 -1966 adopted by the City Council on August 15, 1966 ordered all of the improvement under Project No. 82 as proposed by Council Resolution No. 98- 1966. WHEREAS, Resolution No. 29 -1967 adopted by the City Council on February 20, 1967 ordered all of the improvement proposed by Council Resolution No. 15 -1967. WHEREAS, Resolution No. 40 -1967 adopted by the City Council on March 6, 1967 ordered the improvement proposed by Council Resolution No. 39 -1967. NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved by the City Council of the City of Fridley 1) That the following proposed improvement work shall be done under this project: a) The storm sewer work on Madison Street and Cheri Lane proposed by Resolution No. 98 -1966 b) All the work proposed by Resolution No. 15 -1967 c) All the work proposed by Resolution No. 39 -1967. 2) All of the work involved in such improvements as listed above shall hereafter be designated as WATER, SANITARY SEWER AND STORM SEWER IMPROVEMENT PROJECT NO. 84. 3) Such plans and specifications, a copy of which are attached hereto and made a part hereof, are hereby approved. 4) The work to be performed under Water, Sanitary Sewer and Storm Sewer Project #84 shall be performed under one contract. The City Manager shall accordingly prepare and cause to be inserted in the official newspaper advertisements for bids upon the making of such improvements under such approved plans and specifications. The advertise- ment shall be published for three (3) weeks (at least 21 days), and shall specify the work to be done and will state that bids will be opened and considered at 12:00 o'clock (noon) on the 17th day of April, 1967 in the Council Chambers of the City Hall, and that no bids will be considered unless sealed and filed with the City Clerk, and accompanied by a cash deposit, bid bond, or certified check payable to the City for five per cent (5%) of the amount of such bid. That the advertisement for bids for Water, Sanitary Sewer, Storm Sewer Project #84 shall be substantially in form as that noted in Exhibit "B" attached hereto for reference and made a part hereof. KIRKHAM RESOLUTION NO. 43 NOTICE TO CONTRACTORS EXHIBIT "B" Sealed bids will be received and publicly opened by the City of Fridley, Anoka, County, Minnesota, at the office of the City Manager, on the 17th day of April, 1967 at 12 :00 Noon, and will be considered by the City Council of the City of Fridley at a regular Council Meeting at 8:00 P.M. on the 17th day of April, 1967, for the furnishing of work and materials for the installation of Sanitary Sewer, Water and Storm Sewer Improvement Project No. 84. The Project consists of the following: 3700 L.F. 12" to 1" Watermain with Related Appurtenances 3500 L.F. 6" to 8" Sanitary Sewer with Manholes & Related Appurtenances 730 L.F. 4" Force Main 1 Ea. Lift Station 5500 L.F. 12" to 42" Storm Sewer with Manholes, Catch Basins & Related Appurtenances All in accordance with plans and specifications prepared for the City of Fridley, Minnesota, by Comstock & Davis, Inc., Consulting Engineers, 1446 County Road "J ", Minneapolis, Minnesota 55432, Telephone 784 -9346. Plans and specifications may be examined at the office of the City Manager, and copies may be obtained for the Contractor's individual use by applying to the Engineers and depositing with the Engineers $20.00 for each set. The deposit will be refunded to each bidder submitting a bonafide bid upon return of the documents in good condition within ten (10) days from the date of opening bids, and to non - bidders upon return of the documents in good condition prior to the bid opening. Bids must be made on the basis of cash payment for the work, and accompanied by a cash deposit, certified check (on a responsible bank in the State of Minnesota), or a bidder's bond and made payable without condition to the City of Fridley, Minnesota in an amount of not less than 5% of the total amount of the bid. The City Council reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive any informalities in any bids received without explanation. No bid may be withdrawn for a period of thirty (30) days.
