RES 1967-88 - 00010734RESOLUTION NO. 88 -1967 RESOLUTION ORDERING IMPROVE[ENTS, APPROVAL OF PLANS AND ORDERING ADVERTISEIENT FOR BIDS: WATER IMPROVEMENT PROJECT #75-G " WHEREAS, pursuant to a Resolution #__.87-1967 of the City Council, adopted on May 1, 1967, Comstock and Davis, Incorporated, Consulting Engineers, has prepared plans and specifications for all of the improve- ments proposed by Resolution #__87-1917 and has presented such plans and specifications to the Council for approval: NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Council of the City of Fridley, Minnesota, as follows: 1. That the following improvements heretofore proposed by the Council resolution are hereby ordered to be effected and completed as soon as reasonably possible to -wit: a) Fencing and landscaping of Fridley Commons Park and area around Water Filtration Plant; b) Fencing and landscaping the City property around the 12 Million Gallon Reservoir. 2. Such plans and specifications, a copy of which are attached hereto and made a part hereof, are hereby approved. 3. The work to be performed under Water Improvement Project #75 -G shall be performed under one contract. The City Manager shall accordingly prepare and cause to be inserted in the official newspaper advertisements for bids upon the making of such improvements under such approved plans and specifica- tions. The advertisement shall be published for two (2) weeks (at least 10 days), and shall specify the work to be done and will state that bids will be opened and considered at 12:00 o'clock (noon), on the 5th day of June , 1967 in the Council Chambers of the City Hall, and that no bids will be considered unless sealed and filed with the City Clerk, and accompanied by a cash deposit, bid bond, or certified check payable to the City for five per cent (5%) of the amount of such a bid. That the advertisement for bids for Water Improve - went Project 7#75 -G shall be substantially in form as that noted in Exhibit "B" attached hereto for reference and made a part hereof. Brunsell i' , y: n 117 NOTICE TO CONTRACTORS Sealed bids will be received and publicly opened by the City of Fridley, Anoka County, Minnesota at the office of the City Manager, on the 5th day of June, 1967, 12:00 Noon, and will be considered by the City Council of the City of Fridley at a regular Council Meeting at 8:00 P.M. on the 5th day of Jure, 1967, for the furnish- ing of work and materials for the installation of Water Improvement Project No. 75-G. The project consists of the following approximate work: 1,000 L.F. Cyclone Fence 8,000 S.Y. Sod Associated site work including black dirt and clay application. All in accordance with plans and specifications prepared for the City of Fridley, Minnesota, by Comstock and Davis, Inc., Consulting Engineers, 1446 County Road "J ", Minneapolis, Minnesota 55432, Telephone: 784 -9346. Plans and specifications may be examined at the office of the City Manager, and copies may be obtained for the Contractor's individual use by applying to the Engineers and depositing with the Engineers $10.00 for each set. The deposit will be refunded to each bidder submitting a bona fide bid upon return of the documents in good condition within ten (10) days from the date of opening bids and to non - bidders upon return of the documents in good condition prior to the bid opening. Bids must be made on the basis of cash payment for the work, and accompanied by a cash deposit, certified check (on a responsible bank in the State of Minnesota), or a bidder's bond and made payable without condition to the City of Fridley, Minnesota, in the amount of not less than 5% of the total amount of the bid. The City Council reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive any informalities in any bids received without explanation. No bid may be withdrawn for a period of thirty (30) days.
