RES 1967-97 - 0001074711 129 RESOLUTION NO. 97 -1967 RESOLUTION ORDERING IMPROVEMENTS, APPROVAL OF PLAN'S AND ORDERING ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS: STORM SEWER IMPROVEMENT PROJECT NO. 82` WHEREAS, pursuant to a Resolution #128 -1966 and Resolution # 96 -1967 adopted on April 15, 1966 and June 5, 1967 respectively, Comstock and Davis, Incorporated, Consulting Engineers, has prepared plans and specifications for the improvement proposed by Resolution #9S -1966 and Storm Sewer part of the improve- ments proposed by Resolution # 67 -1967 and has presented such plans and speci- fications to the Council for approval. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Council of the City of Fridley, Minnesota, as follows: 1. That the following improvements heretofore proposed by the Council Resolutions 998 -1966 and 467 -1967 are hereby ordered to be effected and completed as soon as reasonably possible, to -wit: Storm sewer and appurtenances in and serving the area bounded by: Interstate No. 694 in the North, 53rd Avenue in the South, Highway No. 65 in the East and Madison Street extended North on the West side. That the work involved in such improvement as listed above shall hereafter be designated as STOKI SEWER IMPROVEMENT PROJECT #82. 2. Such plans and specifications, a copy of which are attached hereto and made a part hereof, are hereby approved. 3. The work to be performed under Storm Sewer Project 482 shall be per - formed under one contract. . The City Manager shall accordingly prepare and cause to be inserted in the official newspaper advertisements for bids upon the making of such improve- ments under such approved plans and specifications. The advertisement shall be published for two (2) weeks (at least 10 days), and shall specify the work to be done and will state that bids will be opened and considered at 12:00 o'clock (noon), on the 5th day of June, 1967 in the Council Chambers of the City Hall, and that no bids will be considered unless sealed and filed with the City Clerk, and accompanied by a cash deposit, bid bond, or certified check payable to the City for five per cent (5%) of the amount of such a bid. That the advertise- ments for bids for Storm Sewer Project 1682 shall be substantially in form as that noted in Exhibit "B" attached hereto for reference and made a part hereof. Brunsell� 130 NOTICE TO CONTRACTORS Sealed bids will be received and publicly opened by the City of Fridley, Anoka County, Minnesota, at the office of the City Manager, on the 26th day of June, 1967 at 12:00 Noon, and will be considered by the City Council of the City of Fridley at a regu- lar Council Meeting at 8:00 P.M. on the 5th day of July, 1967, for the furnishing of work and materials for the installation of Storm Sewer Improvement Project No. 82. The Project consists of the following: 2300 L.F. 12" to 48" Storm Sewer with Manholes, Catch Basins & Related Appurtenances All in accordance with plans and specifications prepared for the City of Fridley, Minnesota,.by Comstock and Davis, Inc., Consulting Engineers, 1446 County Road "J ", Minneapolis, Minnesota 55432: Telephone 784 -9346. Plans and specifications may be examined at the office of the City Manager, and copies may be obtained for the Contractor's individual use by applying to the Engineers and depositing with the Engineers $20.00 for each set. The deposit will be refunded to each bidder submitting a bonafide bid upon return of the documents in good condition within ten (10) days from the date of opening bids, and to non - bidders upon return of the documents in good condition prior to the bid opening. Bids must be made on the basis of cash payment for the work, and accompanied by a cash deposit, certified check (on a responsible bank in the State of Minnesota), or a bidder's bond and made payable without condition to the City of Fridley, Minnesota in an amount of not less than 5/0 of the total amount of the bid. The City Council reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive any informalities in any bids received without explanation. No bid may be withdrawn for a period of thirty (30) days.
