11/09/1968 CB - 00019867r I: � THE MINUTES OF THE SPECIAL COtiNCIL MPETING OF NOVEMBER 9, 1968 AND CANVASS OF GENERAL ELECTION The Meeting was called to order on Saturday, November 9, 1968 at 9:50 A.M by Mayor Kirkham. ROLL CALL_ I�IENL�3ERS PRESENT: Kirkham, Samuelson, Sheridan, Harris MEbIIERS ABSENT: Liebl DISCUSSSI0:1 OF STRITF.-ANDERSON FOiI[VD9TION PERMIT: MOTI0:1 by Sheridan, seconded by Harris, that Strite-Anderson be issued a foundation permit for the extension to their building. Upon a voice vote, there being no nays, the motion carried unanimously GENERAL CONTRACTOR LICENSE: MOTIOV by Samuelson, seconded by Sheridan, to approve the following General Contractor's License; Balco Building Systems, Inc. Approved by 2801 Wayzata Blvd. Building Minneapolis, Minnesota BY; Robert M. Ba1ch,III NEW Inspector Upon a voice vote, there being no nays, the motion carried unanimously. , CONSTDERATION OF A SIGN P$R�IIT FOR MINNIE PEAPiL CHICKFN ON UNIVERSITY AVENUE N E: The Counci� studied the plans for the requested sign Councilman Sheridan suggested that� the top section of the sign be removed. Councilman Sheridan questioned whether the botto�n section should be removed also, so that there would be 14' underneath for visibility at the corner, but this was just a small inset on the sign. The Cosncil discussed Item 56 on the sign plans and stated that this would have to be eliminated also as it was the control for all the flashers around the sign, and there can he no flashers as there is a residential area behind the drive-in MOTION by Harris, seconded by Samuelson, to approve the sign parmit for Minnie Pearl with the stipulations that the top section of the sign, which is a portrait of Minnie Pearl, be removed, that Item 56, which is a four point flasher on the plan submitted be eliminated, and that anything else that would be rotating or flashing be removed, The total height of the sign sha11 be no higher than 22� feet to the top of the sign Upon a voice vote, there being ao nays, the motion carried unanimously. Ct1NVASS OF GENERAL ELECTIOV OF NOVEMBEP. 5. 1968• MOTION by Sheridan, seconded by Samuelson, that the Council adopt the Statement of Canvass and Declaration of Results of the Election of November 5, 1968 as reviewed by the Council Upon a voice vote, there being no nays, the motio� carried unanimously The Canvass will be found on the following pages.
