RESOLUTION NO. 163 -1968
RESOLUTION APPROVING PLANS FOR STREET IMPROVEMENT AND APPROVING
CHANGE ORDER. NO. 2 FOR THE ADDITION OF SAID STREETS TO STREET IMPROVE -
MEWL PROJECT ST1968 - -1B AND PROVIDING FOR CERTAIN DESIGN MODI:FI.CATIONS TO
STREETS INCLUDED UNDER STREET IMPROVEMENT PROJECT ST1968 -2B. .
WHEREAS, Resolution No. 102 -1968 dated August 5, 1968 ordered
"Improvement and Final Plans and Specifications and Estimates of Costs
thereof" for certain street improvements designated therein as Street
Improvement Project ST1968 -1; and
WHEREAS, the City of Fridley has retained Suburban Engineering, Inc. of
Fridley, Minnesota, as consulting engineers for the above mentioned
improvements; and
WHEREAS, Suburban Engineering, Inc. has prepared final plans and specifi-
cations and cost estimates for the addition of certain streets to Street
Improvement Project ST1968 -1B; and
WHEREAS, the City of Fridley has an existing contract for Street Improve -
rent Project ST1968 -1B with Dunkley Surfacing Co., Incorporated, which
provides that the City can attach or deduct work units up to 20% of the
original contract price;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Council of the City of Frid-
ley, Minnesota, as follows:
1. That the following improvements for street grading, base, bituminous '
'surfacing, concrete curb and gutter, storm sewer appurtenances and
related work as proposed by earlier resolutions are hereby ordered
to be effected and completed as soon as reasonaly possible, towit:

2. That the plans and specifications and price estimates prepared by
Suburban Engineering, Inc. for the above improvements approved for
construction as submitted; and
3. That the work involved in said improvements as listed above shall be
added on to the contract of:
"STREET IMPROVEMENT PROJECT ST1968 -1B and M.S.A. STREET IMPROVEMENT
PROJECT ST1.968 -2B" by Change Order No. 2 and Addendum No. 1 of Change
Order No. 2; and

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that design modifications to 53rd Avenue N.E.,
proposed for construction under Street Improvement Project ST1968 -2B are
hereby approved as outlined in Addendum 2 to Change Order No. 2 for the
above project; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that certain extensions to existing storm
sewer located in the north boulevard of 53rd Avenue from 4th Street to
approximately 218 feet east, as reconmiended by the City engineer, are
hereby approved as outlined in Addendum 3 to Change Order No. 2 for the
above project;
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that Change Order No. 2 for Street Improvement
Project ST1968 -1B and ST1968 -2B, as submitted by the City Engineer is
hereby approved.
ADOPTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FRIDLEY THIS 7TH DAY
