RES 1968-31 - 00010338e RESOLUTION NO. 31 - 1968 A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY CLERK. TO WITHDRAW THE CERTIFICATION OF SPECIAL ASSESSMENTS ON THAT TAY. FORFEITED PROPERTY SOLD DURING THE YEAR 1968 AND FURTHER. AUTHORIZING THE RECERTIFICATION OF SAID ASSESSDIENTS. BE IT RESOLVED, by the Council of the City of Fridley, Anoka County, Minnesota as follows: WHEREAS, it has come to the attention of the Fridley City Council that the existence of accumulated special assessments against tax forfeited property greatly reduced the marketability of said property at tax forfeiture sales, and; WHEREAS, it is in the best interests of the taxpayers of the City of Fridley that this property be sold and removed from the tax forfeited list, and; WHEREAS, the City of Fridley desires to take such steps as are necessary to make the property marketable without jeopardizing the original special assessment used as security in the issuance of bonds; NOd THEREFORE, 3E IT RESOLVED, that the Fridley City Council- in order to accomplish the above objectives; hereby authorizes the City Clerk to withdraw the certification of all special assess!:ients on those parcels of tax forfeited property, listed in Appendix A; which is attached hereto and made a part hereof, that are sold within the year 1968; and further authorizing the City Clerk to recertify the total amount of special assessments viithdrawr, including principal, penalty, and interest. Said amount as recertified to be collected over the number of years remaining on that certain bond issue or bond issues for which the original assessment, or assessments, were placed as security. The City Clerk is authorized to adopt such administrative procedures, in cooperation with the County Auditor; as are necessary to accomplish the above objectives.
