RES 1968-50 - 00010370i9 RESOLUTION NO. 50 -1968 A RESOLUTION PROVIDING FOR THE ISSUANCE OF BONDS FOR PARK PURPOSES INCLUDING LAND ACQUISITION, DEVELOPMENT, AND ACQUISITION OF EQUIPMENT AND CALLING FOR A BOND ELECTION. BE IT RESOLVED, by the Council of the City of Fridley, Anoka County, Minnesota, as follows: 1. That the Council of the City of Fridley hereby determines to issue bonds of the City as authorized by Chapter 475 of the Minnesota Statutes, and the Charter of the City of Fridley. The purpose for which the debt is to be incurred is to provide money for park, playground and recreational purposes, including land acquisition and development, and acquisition of equipment. 2. The question of the issuance of such bonds shall be submitted to the voters of the City at the Special Election to be held June 11, 1968. 3. The City Clerk is authorized and directed to cause printed ballots to be prepared for use at said election, in which the proposition shall be stated in substantially the following form: OFFICIAL BALLOT SPECIAL CITY ELECTION CITY OF FRIDLEY, ANOKA COUNTY, MINNESOTA. JUNE 11, 1968 SHALL THE CITY OF FRIDLEY BORROW MONEY AND ISSUE ITS NEGOTIABLE COUPON GENERAL OBLIGATION BONDS IN THE AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $1,500,000.00 FOR THE PURPOSE OF PROVIDING MONEY FOR PARK, PLAY- GROUND AND RECREATIONAL PURPOSES, INCLUDING LAND ACQUISITION AND DEVELOPMENT, AND ACQUISITION OF EQUIPMENT? YES NO INSTRUCTION TO VOTERS: Voters desiring to vote in favor of the foregoing proposition shall make a cross mark (X) in the square opposite the word YES. Voters desiring to vote against the foregoing proposition shall make a cross mark (X) in the square opposite the word NO. 4. The City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to secure the necessary election supplies, to give proper notice including published notice and posted notice and arrange such other details as are necessary for the election. v� RESOLUTION NO. 50 - 1968 (CONTINUED) 5. The election shall be held at the usual voting places for City elections. The polls shall remain open to vote on said question from 7:00 A.M. to 8 :00 P.M. 6. That said election shall be held and conducted in accordance with the statutes of the State of Minnesota applicable to elections for the City of Fridley, and also in accordance with the provisions of the Fridley City Charter, and the council shall meet as required by law for the purpose of canvassing said election and declaring the results thereof.
