RES 1969-01 - 000099471 RESOLUTION NO. 1 -1969 A RESOLUTION REQUESTING ANOKA COUNTY COMMISSIONERS TO DESIGNATE 73RD AVENUE AS A COUNTY ROAD AND IMPROVE IT. WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Fridley by Resolution #37 -1966, dated March 21, 1966, and Resolution #137 -1967, dated July 17, 1967, requested the Anoka County Commissioner to designate Portions of 73rd Avenue as a, County road and improve these sections of the road; and WHEREAS, Onan Properties are building over a 513,000,000 industrial complex at 73rd and Central Avenue with approximately 1,600 employees, and they will be using 73rd Avenue as there main access to their complex, WHEREAS, we have another development, Medtronic's Industries, South of Norton Avenue in the process of starting their complex and will ultimately have over 2,500 employees, WHEREAS, we have received a communication from Mr. G. Larry Griffith of Dorsey, Marquart, Windhorst, West & Halladay, representing Qnan Industries in regard to the improvement of 73rd Avenue, WHEREAS, the City's Administrative staff has met twice with the Anoka County Road and Bridge Committee in this regard, NOW THEREFORE, be it resolved by the City Council of the City of Fridley, Anoka County, Minnesota, as follows: THAT Anoka County is requested to designate immediately, at least the section of 73rd Avenue from Trunk Highway #65 to Central Avenue as a county road, AND also improve the same in the construction season of 1969.
