RESOLUTION NO. .120 - 1969
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING SUBTIISSION OF SPLIT LIQUOR TO THE VOTERS
WHEREAS, Experience has indicated the difficulty of maintaining high
quality eating establishments in communities which do not issue private
"on- sale" liquor licenses; and
WHEREAS, Municipalities are now authorized by law to issue 'on- sale"
licenses to hotels and restaurants while continuing a municipal dispensary
for the 'off- sale" of intoxicating liquor;
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF FRIDLEY, MINNESOTA:
It is desirable and in the public interest to issue private licenses
for the sale of liquor for consumption on the licensed premises elon- sale ")
while continuing the operation of the municipal diapensary to sell intoxicating
liquor in original packages off the premises only ( "off- sale ").
Pursuant to Chapter 340.353 laws 1969 a special election shal_1 be held
at the City of Fridley on the 19th day of August, 1969 from 7 a.m, to 8 p.m.,
at which time and place the following proposition shall be submitted to the
voters.
"Shall the City of Fridley be authorized to issue "on-sale" liquor
licenses to hotels and restaurants pursuant to (the "split liquor bill, being)
Minnesota Statutes 340.353."
The City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to prepare the necessary
ballots and other election supplies, give proper notice, and. arrange other details
necessary for the election.
