RESOLUTION NO. 15 -1969
A RESOLUTION APPROVING 10 YEAR STREET IMPROVa1FNT PROGRAM FOR
THE CITY OF FRIDLEY
WHEREAS a majority of approximately 85 miles of city streets have been
improved with curbing and blacktop paving and there are only about 18 miles
of streets open to traffic which do not have curbing and are substandard.
WHEREAS advanced planning and scheduling of the improvements will provide;
1. A plan for street improvements that will give property owners advance
notification concerning these improvements.
2. A better street improvement through advanced coordination and planning of
construction.
3. Reduced Engineering costs by advance scheduling of an established number
of miles of streets each year.
4. Adequate temporary repairs to the streets depending upon their scheduled
year of improvement and thus a better utilization of our street maintenance
monies.
WHEREAS the informal public hearings for this program were held before
the City Council at 9:00 P.M. on December 9, 1968 and January 13, 1969
at the Fridley Civic Center.
BE IT RESOLVED, by the Council of the City of Fridley as follows:
1. That the ten year street improvement program as submitted by the City
Engineer, Nasim M. Qureshi, is hereby approved and attached hereto and
made part thereof reference as Exhibit A and Exhibit B.
2. That the City Council will hold the required legal improvement public
hearings, a year before the proposed scheduled years for the streets
improvements as indicated on Exhibit "A ".
ADOPTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FRIDLEY THIS 20TH
DAY OF JANUARY 1963.
