RES 1969-168 - 000102080U RESOLUTION NO. 168 -1969 RESOLUTION RECEIVING PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS AND ORDERING BIDS FOR SANITARY SEWER PROJECT NO. 96 WHEREAS, an emergency exists due to the 1969 flood damage to the sanitary sewer line South of Riverview Terrace and West of Alden Way. WHEREAS, the City of Fridley has received assurance from the Office of Emergency Planning that a portion of the cost of repair, modi- fication and improvement of the sanitary sewer line will be paid for from Federal funds. M WHEREAS, any costs not covered by Federal Funds would be paid out of Sanitary Sewer Utility Fund. WHEREAS', Comstock & Davis, Incorporated, Consulting Engineers, have prepared a report and plans and specifications for the necessary repair and modification of the sanitary sewer line. r NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Fridley that such report, plans and specifications covering the repair and ' improvement of said sanitary sewer line is hereby received and approved and the work under Sanitary Sewer Project No. 96 shall be performed under one contract. The City Manager shall accordingly prepare and cause to.be inserted in the official newspaper advertisements for bids upon the making of such improvements under such approved plans and specifications. The advertise- ment shall be published for two (2) weeks (at least 10 days), and shall specify the work to be done and will state that bids will be opened and considered at 11:30 A.M. on the 6th day of October, 1969 in the Council Chambers of the City Hall, and that no bids will be considered unless sealed and filed with the City Clerk, and accompanied by a cash deposit, bid bond, or certified check payable to the City for five per cent (5%) of the amount of such a bid. That the advertisement for bids for SANITARY SEWER PROJECT NO. 96 shall be substantially in form as that noted in Exhibit "B" attached hereto for reference and made a part hereof. I NOTICE TO CONTRACTORS Sealed bids will be received and publicly opened by the City of Fridley, Anoka County, Minnesota, at the office of the City Manager, on the 6th day of October, 1969 at 11:30 A.M., and will be considered by the City Council of the City of Fridley at a regular Council Meeting at 7:30 P.M. on the 6th day of October, 1969 for the furnishing of work and materials for the installation of Sanitary Sewer Improvement Project #96. The Project consists of the following: 2,341 L.F. 6" to 8" Sanitary Sewer with Manholes $ Related Appurtenances All in accordance with plans and specifications prepared for the City of Fridley, Minnesota, by Comstock $ Davis, Inc., Consulting Engineers, 1446 County Road "J ", Minneapolis, Minnesota 55432, Telephone 784 -9346. Plans and specifications may be examined at the office of the City Manager, and copies may be obtained for the Contractor's individual use by applying to the Engineers and depositing with the Engineers $15.00 for each set. The deposit will be refunded to each bidder submitting a bonafide bid upon return of the documents in good condition within ten (10) days from the date of opening bids, and to non - bidders upon return of the documents in good condition prior to the bid opening. Bids must be made on the basis of cash payment for the work, and accompanied by a cash deposit, certified check (on a responsible bank in the State of Minnesota), or a bidder's bond and made payable without condition to the City of Fridley, Minnesota in an amount of not less than 50 of the total amount of the bid. The City Council reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive any informalities in any bids received without explanation. No bid may be withdrawn for a period of thirty (30) days.
