RESOLUTION REGARDING THE REGULATION OF SNOWMOBILES
' WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Fridley desires to estab-
lish rules and regulations with regard to the use of snowmobiles within
the corporate limits of the City of Fridley.
AND WHEREAS, City Code Chapter 88.11 gives the City the power to
regulate the operation of snowmobiles on public lands, waters, and pro-
. perty under their jurisdiction.
AND WHEREAS, the City has enacted City Code Chapter number 78.34.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, That the following rules and regu-
lations are adopted with reference to snowmobiles: -
1. The operation of snowmobiles are hereby prohibited on property
owned by the City, property under its jurisdiction, except in
the areas specifically designated as snowmobile areas by the
Parks and Recreations Commission.
2. No snowmobile shall be operated prior to sunrise or after
10:00 P.M.
3. No person under the age of 14 years shall operate a snowmobile
within the designated areas.
4. That no person under 14 years of age shall operate a snowmobile
on streets and highways within the corporate boundaries of the
City of Fridley.
5. A person 14 years of age or older but less than 18 years of age
may operate a snowmobile on streets and highways within the
corporate limits of the City of Fridley only if he has in his
immediate possession a valid snowmobile safety certificate issued
by the Commissioner of Conservation.
ADOPTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL THIS 1ST DAY OF DECEMBER, 1969.
