RESOLUTION NO. 38 - 1969
A RESOLUTION REGARDING THE ENACTMENT OF
LEGISLATION AUTHORIZING MUNICIPAL OFF -SALE
AND PRIVATE ON -SALE OF ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES
BE IT RESOLVED, by the Council of the City of Fridley Anoka County
Minnesota as-follows:
WHEREAS, present State wide legislation requires municipalities to
elect either municipal or private distribution of alcoholic beverages; and
WHEREAS, said present legislation does not permit the splitting of
the local system so as to allow private on -sale and municipal off -sale of
alcoholic beverages; and
WHEREAS, the Fridley City Council favors in principle the private
distribution of alcoholic beverages;
NOW THEREFORE, be it resolved that the Fridley City Council goes on
record in support of Senate Bill File No. 271 as amended by the House of
Representatives, which would permit municipalities to establish a system of
private on -sale of alcoholic beverages and municipal off -sale of alcoholic
beverages.
