RES 1969-70 - 0001004296 70 -1969 A RESOLUTION REGARDING PROPOSED METROPOLITAN SEWER DISTRICT I BE IT RESOLVED, by the Council of the City of Fridley, Anoka County, Minnesota, as follows: WHEREAS Senate File 237 and House File 335 commonly known as the Metro Sewer Bill are proposed to be amended by "A Bill for an Act Creating a Metro- politan Sewer Board and providing for the establishment and reorganization of regional Sanitary Sewer Districts; prescribing their powers and duties in connection with the collection, treatment and disposal of sewage in the metro- politan area, amending Minnesota Statutes 1967, Section 115.62 and Section 115.65 ", which amendment is proposed to be submitted to the Minnesota House of Representatives; and, WHEREAS, the Fridley City Council deems it in the best interest of the Metropolitan area that the problems of water pollution and disposal of sewage, industrial waste and other waste be dealt with by existing local governmental units in the area under existing laws by creating and providing authority to a Metropolitan Sewer Board to determine Metropolitan benefits and by requiring the formation of Sanitary Sewer Districts whose boundaries would be determined by the existing Pollution Control Agency within the framework of existing legislation; NOW THEREFORE, be it resolved that the City of Fridley, Minnesota be, and , hereby is, on record recommending to the 1969 Minnesota Legislature that Senate File No. 237 and House File No. 335 be amended so as to create a Metropolitan Sewer Board and to establish and reorganize regional sanitary sewer districts within the metropolitan area pursuant to such proposed amended version of the Metropolitan Sewer Bill.
