RESOLUTION NO. 85 -1969
A RESOLUTION APPROVING EIGHT YEAR STORM SEWER IMPROVEMENT
PROGRAM FOR THE CITY OF FRIDLEY
WHEREAS, Resolution No. 15 -1969 adopted by the Fridley City Council on
the 20th day of January, 1969 approved a ten year street improvement program
for the City.
WHEREAS, for the proper improvement of streets, the drainage and under-
ground facilities should be completed before the permanent pavement is installed.
WHEREAS, advanced planning and scheduling of improvements will provide;
1. A plan for the improvement of the storm sewer and drainage facilities
that will precede the proposed street improvement.
2. A plan for storm sewer and drainage facilities that will give the
property owners advanced information concerning these improvements.
j. A plan which will minimize engineering costs by advanced planning and
scheduling of work each year.
4. A plan which will minimize improvement costs to the property owners
by advanced scheduling of work and letting the contract in the slow
construction time of the year.
WHEREAS, this program might have to be readjusted depending upon the
property owners wanting the improvement in certain areas to be done earlier or
some other problems which might necessitate Council ordering the facilities
earlier than the suggested schedule.
NOW BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Fridley, as follows:
1. That an eight year stcrm sewer improvement program as submitted by the
City Engineer, Nasim M. Qureshi, is hereby approved and attached hereto
and made a part thereof reference as Exhibit "A" and "B ".
2. That the City Council will hold the required legal improvement public
hearing a year before the proposed scheduled year for the storm sewer
improvements as indicated on Exhibit "A ".
ADOPTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FRIDLEY THIS 19TH
DAY OF MAY , 1969.
