RES 1969-89 - 00010069121 RESOLUTION NO. 89 -1969 RESOLUTION ORDERING IMPROVEMENTS, APPROVAL OF PLANS AND ORDERING ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS: SANITARY SEWER PROJECT #91 WHEREAS, pursuant to a Resolution #63 -1969 of the City Council adopted on April 21, 1969, Comstock and Davis, Incorporated, Consulting Engineers, has prepared plans and specifications for some of the improvements proposed by Resolution #37 -1969 and has presented such plans and specifications to the Council for approval. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Council of the City of Fridley, Minnesota, as follows: 1. That the following improvements heretofore proposed by the Council Resolution #37 -1969 are hereby ordered to be effected and completed as soon as reasonably possible to -wit: Sanitary sewer and appurtenances to serve the area described as follows: All that part of Outlets 1, 2, 3, Block 1, Moore Lake Highlands 4th Addition not now served and that part of Herwal 2nd Addition not now served. That the work involved in such improvement as listed above shall hereafter be designated as SANITARY SEWER PROJECT #91. 2. Such plans and specifications, a copy of which is attached hereto and made a part hereof, are hereby approved. 3. The work to be performed under SANITARY SEWER PROJECT #91 shall be performed under one contract. The City Manager shall accordingly prepare and cause to be inserted in the official newspaper advertisements for bids upon the making of such improvements under such approved plans and specifications. The advertisement shall be published for one week (at least 10 days), and shall specify the work to be done and will state that bids will be opened and considered at 12:00 o'clock (Noon), on the 7th day of July, 1969 in the Council Chambers of the City Hall, and that -no -bids will be considered unless sealed and filed with the City Clerk, and accompanied by a cash deposit, hid bond, or certified check payable to the City for five per cent (5 %) of the amount of such a bid. That the advertisement for bids for SANITARY SEWER PROJECT #91 shall be substantially in form as that noted in Exhibit "B" attached hereto for re- ference and made a part hereof. KIRKHAM 122 NOTICE TO CONTRACTORS Sealed bids will be received and publicly opened by the City of Fridley, Anoka County, Minnesota, at the office of the City Manager, on the 7th day of July, 1969 at 12:00 Noon, and will be considered by the City Council of the City of Fridley at a regular Council Meeting at 8:00 P.M. on the 7th day of July, 1969 for the furnishing of work and materials for the installation of Sanitary Sewer Improvement Project No. 91. The Project consists of the following: 500 L.F. 6" to 8" Sanitary Sewer with Manholes & Related Appurtenances 1 Each Lift Station in Manhole 160 L.F. 3" Forcemain and Related Appurtenances All in accordance with plans and specifications prepared for the City of Fridley, Minnesota, by Comstock and Davis, Inc., Consulting Engineers, 1446 County Road "J ", Minneapolis, Minnesota 55432, Telephone 784 -9346. Plans and specifications may be examined at the office of the Ci" Manager, and copies may be obtained for the Contractor's individual use by applying to the Engineers and depositing with the Engineers $10.00 for each set. The deposit will be refunded to each bidder submitting a bonafide bid upon return of the documents in good condition within ten (10) days from the date of opening bids, and to non - bidders upon return of the documents in good condition prior to the bid opening. Bids must be made on the basis of cash payment for the work, and accompanied by a cash deposit, certified check (on a responsible bank in the State of Minnesota), or a bidder's bond and made payable without condition to the City of Fridley, Minnesota in an amount of not less than 50 of the total amount of the bid. The City Council reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive any informalities in any bids received without explanation. No bid may be withdrawn for a period of thirty (30) days.
