Herrick City Attorney Open Burning January , 1970 , . /, - :, ' '',t I have received inquiries about the City's position on open burning of refuse in barrels or fire containers. A review of the air pollution control ordinance, Nhich is attached, appears to restrict such burning in areas that have public or commercial refuse collection service. If the Council agrees with this interpretation and position, it would be my suggestion that an announcement or notice be placed in the newspaper to the effect that such burning is'now prohibited and that violations would be prosecuted.
