IRESOLUTION NO. 100 -1970
A RESOLUTION DELETING SIDEWALKS FROM STREET IMPROVEMENT PROJECT
ST. 1970 -2 AND WITHDRAWING COURT ACTION FOR RIGHT OF WAY
ACQUISITION FOR THE SIDEWALKS
WHEREAS, the City Council of Fridley by Resolution No. 162 -1969
adopted on September 15, 1969 authorized the installation of sidewalks
on West Moore Lake Drive N.E.,
WHEREAS, there has been subsequent discussions regarding the in-
stallation of thesidew alks on this street at City Council meetings on
August 11, 1969, May 11, 1970 and May 18, 1970,
WHEREAS, there has been unanimous opposition by all the property
owners present at these meetings against the installation of sidewalks,
even though the City proposed not to assess the cost of the sidewalks
against the abutting property owners, and,
WHEREAS, that by Resolution No. 73 -1970 adopted by the City Council
on April 6, 1970 authorized the administration to proceed with the
acquisition of the easements for the sidewalks.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City
of Fridley that:
1. The installation of sidewalks on West Moore Lake Drive proposed
under Street Improvement Project St. 1970 -2 is hereby deleted.
2. The action authorized under Resolution No. 73 -1970 for acquisition
of the easements for the sidewalks is withdrawn.
