RESOLUTION NO. 113 -1970
A RESOLUTION REGARDING THE IMPROVEMENT OF THE DIRECTIONAL AND LANE
IDENTIFICATION SIGNS ON INTERSTATE HIGHWAY NO. 694 INTERCHANGES WITH
ANOKA COUNTY HIGHWAY NO. 1 AND STATE TRUNK IIIGHWAY NO. 47
WHEREAS, the interchanges of Interstate Highway No. 694 at
Anoka County Highway No. I and at State Trunk Highway No. 47 are
not of the familiar cloverleaf design, and
WHEREAS, the present traffic movements are confusing and cause
a traffic hazard which endangers life and property, and
WHEREAS, much of the confusion is caused by the lack of
sufficient directional and lane identification signs,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City
of Fridley that the Minnesota Highway Department is hereby requested
to study the feasibility of installing overhead bridge mounted lane
marking signs, lighted if possible, on Interstate Highway No. 694
bridges over Anoka County Highway #1 and State Trunk Highway #47 and
if the study shows these signs will be helpful, that these signs be
installed as soon as possible.
ADOPTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FRIDLEY THIS 15TH DAY OF
JUNE, 1970.
