RES 1970-12 - 00009641RESOLUTION NO, 12 -1970 REQUESTING THAT ANOKA COUNTY COMMISSIONERS INITIATE STUDY TO ENSURE SAFETY OF CHILDREN CROSSING MISSISSIPPI STREET IN VICINITY OF HAYES SCHOOL WHEREAS, the speed limit on Mississippi Street (Anoka County Highway #14) from T.H, 47 to T.H. 65 has been raised from 30 MPH to 35 MPH, and WHEREAS, the increased speed limit on Mississippi Street has aggra- vated the problem of insuring safety of children crossing said street in the vicinity of Hayes Public School, and WHEREAS, the Hayes Public School PTA has requested the Anoka County Commissioners in a letter dated December 30, 1969, to improve traffic control on Mississippi Street by signalization to upgrade safety, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, That the City Council of the City of Fridley requests the Anoka County Commissioners to initiate a study and take necessary action to provide and ensure safety of children crossing Mississippi Street in the vicinity of Hayes School, PASSED AND ADOPTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FRIDLEY THIS 2ND DAY OF FEBRUARY, 1970.
