RES 1970-15 - 0000964416 RESOLUTION NO. 15 -1970 A RESOLUTION ORDERING IMPROVEMENT, APPROVAL OF PLANS AND ORDERING ADVERTISE- MENT FOR BIDS: STREET IMPROVEMENT PROJECT ST. 1970 -1 AND MUNICIPAL STATE AID STREET IMPROVEMENT PROJECT ST. 1970 -2 WHEREAS, the Resolutions adopted by the City Council listed below set the dates for hearings on the improvements, as specifically noted in the Notices of Hearings attached hereto for reference as Echibit "A": Res. No. 186 -1968 Dated November 18, 1968 Res. No. 80 -1969 Dated May 19, 1969 Res. No. 90 -1969 Dated June 16, 1969 Res. No. 121 -1969 Dated July 21, 1969 Res. No. 123 -1969 Dated July 21, 1969 AND WHEREAS, all property owners whose property is liable to be assessed with the making of the improvements (as noted in said notice) were given ten (10) days notice by mail and published notice of the Council hearing through two (2) weekly publications of the required notice, and the hearing was held and the property owners heard thereon at the hearing, as noted in said notice. WHEREAS, the Resolutions listed below adopted by the City Council ordered the improvements for the streets listed hereinafger: Res. No. 88 -1969 Dated June 16, 1969 Res. No. 218 -1969 Dated December 15, 1969 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, By the Council of the City of Fridley, Anoka County, Minnesota, as follows: 1. That the following improvements proposed by the Council Resolutions ' listed below are hereby ordered to be effected and completed as soon as reasonably possible, to -wit: Res. That the following improvements proposed by the Council Resolutions listed below are hereby ordered to be effected and completed as soon as possible: Res. No. 121 -1969 Dated July 21, 1969 Res, No. 123 -1969 Dated July 21, 1969 Street improvements incl bituminous mat, concrete sanitary sewer services, follows: West Moore Lake Drive: 58th Avenue: iding grading, stabilized base, hot mix curb and gutter, sidewalks, water and storm sewer and other facilities located as T.H. #65 to So, Property of Fridley High School Jackson St. to West Moore Lake Drive That the work involved in said improvements as listed above shall hereafter be designated as: MUNICIPAL STATE AID STREET IMPROVEMENT PROJECT NO. 1970 -2 3. The plans and specifications prepared by the City Engineer for such improvements and each of them, pursuant to the Council Resolutions heretofore adopted, a copy of which plans and specifications are hereto attached and made a part hereof, are hereby approved and shall be filed with the City Clerk. 4. The work to be performed under STREET IMPROVEMENT PROJECT ST. 1970-1 and MUNICIPAL STATE AID PROJECT NO. 1970 -2 shall be performed under one contract. . The City Manager shall accordingly prepare and cause to be inserted in the official newspaper advertisements for bids upon the making of such improve- ments under such approved plans and specifications. The advertisement shall be published for three (3) weeks (at least 21 days), shall specify the work to be done and will state that bids will be opened and considered at 11:30 A.M. on the 16th day of March, 1970 in the Council Chambers of the City Hall, and that no bids will be considered unless sealed and filed with the City Clerk, and accompanied by a cash deposit, bid bond, or certified check payable to the City for five percent (So) of the amount of such bid. That the advertisement for bids for STREET IMPROVEMENT PROJECT ST. 1970 -1 and MUNICIPAL STATE AID PROJECT NO. 1970 -2 shall be substantially in form as that noted in Exhibit "B" attached hereto for reference and made a part hereof. BRUNSELL 17 18 NOTICE TO BIDDERS Sealed bids will be received and publicly opened by the City of Fridley, Anoka County, Minnesota, at the office of the City Manager 6431 University Avenue Northeast, Fridley, Minnesota 55421 (Tel. 560 -3450) on the 16th day of March, 1970 at 11:30 A.M. and will be considered by the City Council of the City of Fridley at a regular Council Meeting at 7:30 P.M. on the 16th day of March, 1970 for the furnishing of work and materials for STREET IMPROVEMENT PROJECT ST. 1970 -1 and MUNICIPAL STATE AID STREET IMPROVEMENT PROJECT ST. 1970 -2. The street projects are about three and one quarter miles long and consist of the following principle items of work and approximate quantities: 30,784 Lin. Ft. Concrete Curb and Gutter 5,705 Ton Bituminous Mix 2,273 Ton Class V Base 13,387 Sq. Yds. 6" Thick Bituminous Stabilized Base 19,827 Sq. Yds. 4" Thick Bituminous Stabilized Base All in accordance with plans and specifications prepared by Nasim Qureshi, P.E., City Engineer, Fridley City Hall, 6431 University Avenue Northeast, Fridley, Minnesota, 55421. Telephone: 560 -3450. Plans and specifications may be examined at the office of the City Manager, and copies may be obtained for the Contractor's individual use by applying to the City Engineer and depositing with the City Engineer $25.00 for each set of .the two projects. The deposit will be refunded to each bidder submitting a bonafide bid upon return of the documents in good con- dition within ten (10) days from the bid opening date. Bids must be made on the basis of cash payment for work, and accompanied by a cash deposit, certified check (on a responsible bank in the State of Minnesota) or a bidder's bond made payable without condition to the City of Fridley, Minnesota, in an amount of not less than 5% of the total amount of the bid. The City Council reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive any informalities in any bids received without explanation, No bid may be withdrawn for a period of thirty (30) days.
